Guest guest
I never had to follow the diet but it's all in his book Lose the Weight You Hate. Please, can somebody please tell me what they eat for breakfast when using csm & on Dr. Shoemaker`s protocol. I`am starting a protocol for something else that restricts any dairy products and no sugars. I went out and bought cereals and soy milk. Now I understand I can`t eat cereals when using Dr. Shoemaker`s protocol. Help, now what can I eat? This is going to be so difficult. I wish I had a list of all the do` s and don`ts...... Thank You, nne PS: Thank You, KC & Sharon for taking the time to help educate me
Guest guest
For the first six months I ate nothing but fruit for breakfast- a big bowl that I would munch on and off for 2 hrs. Now I eat allot of eggs , omlets also- a fruit meal a day I enjoy- fresh fish and veg for dinner is great. Shoemakers diet is simple- all the fruit , except bananas, no cereal grain, except corn (I am cutting out corn also, because of aflatoxin and other molds), no sugar, meats and fishOK, vegetables except those that grow below the ground-but onions and garlic are OK. Bean dips with fresh cut up vegs are great- I live by the sea, so I get alot of freah seafood-and grow my own vegs and some fruit. > > Please, can somebody please tell me what they eat for breakfast when > using csm & on Dr. Shoemaker`s protocol. Guest guest
Dr.S hasn't addressed the diet part yet with us but just mentioned to stay away from gluten which we have so far. Our whole family is on the low weight side. So, does this mean the diet is not as important ? I have such a hard time putting on fat and my son definitely needs lipase to digest all the fat. What are the recommendations for increasing fat intake while on CSM ? Thanks Jay ssr3351@... wrote: I never had to follow the diet but it's all in his book Lose the Weight You Hate. Guest guest
yes, welchol is it; sorry. i didn't have to do anything with a diet on csm; i'm skinny too; all he said was take it half hour away from eating. when you start actos, you need to be on the diet in his book if you want to minimize the side effects, particularly hypoglycemia; i did a pseudo-diet and didn't have any problems. with one of the pills - i don't remember if it was zocor or actos, he told me to eat fatty foods because i'm skinny and the pills would lower something which would decrease leptin, which makes msh; so the fat was supposed to raise/keep leptin same - i think it was actos because i ate a lot of fat, but lost weight on his diet. again, though csm, he never said anything about a special diet. > I never had to follow the diet but it's all in his book Lose the Weight You > Hate. > > > Please, can somebody please tell me what they eat for breakfast when > using csm & on Dr. Shoemaker`s protocol. Guest guest
the book is called " Lose the Weight you Hate " - you don't need to read the whole book to do the diet (i've put the whole thing below, taken directly from his book and the sheet he will give out); the book is more geared towards people who want to lose weight; it does have recipes and nutrition info; it's good explaining the science, psychology and biology behind the diet, weight loss, exercise, case studies, among other things if you're interested. it's more of a no-amylose diet; amylose being a sugar. it's high carb, high protein, no complex carbs or starches though, no glucose or amylose the amylose list to avoid: bananas, all foods that grow beneath the ground except onion and garlic, cereal grains (wheat, rice, oats, barley, rye; corn is good; no low fat corn syrup or maltodextrin. NO cereal, chocolate, fast food, regular soft drinks, commercial juices cheese and yogurt ok, watch fat content (and maltodextrin); spices and condiments, ok; popcorn and baked corn chips, ok; diet soft drinks, caffeine, ok. > > > I never had to follow the diet but it's all in his book Lose > the > > Weight You > > > Hate. > > > > > > > > > Please, can somebody please tell me what they eat for breakfast > > when > > > using csm & on Dr. Shoemaker`s protocol. Guest guest
I try to keep up with Dr. Mercola too. Great site. I thought he was a proponent of raw milk which I’ve been using problem free for around a year now. My understanding the issue with milk was all the hormones pumped into it and the pesticides from eating heavily treated and sometimes genetically altered corn crops. I think raw milk is okay to consume. And yes, I know the government (health authorities) is against it but generally the processing is much cleaner than from commercial dairies. From Dr. Mercola's site, I've read that there is scientific evidence that avoiding dairy is a good idea. However, there is much less evidence for a wheat free diet, and if it can't be avoided then reducing wheat (gluten) intake may be beneficial. This of course applies to non-celiacs. There is another set of diet recommendations from Dr. Hulda . She is a proponent of elimating phenolic acids, azo dyes, enviromental toxins, parasites, and cleanes. Her primary research is in technology to use various frequences (low), standing waves with a positive offset to help in the process of killing bacteria, and pathogens in the body and\ the food we eat. It makes for an interesting read, and may be worth considering. I haven't taking all of her diet recommendatons up, but it does provide a very thorough guide to inproving ones health.
