My husband's 10 year reunion was late last year. We considered not

going since the tickets were so expensive, but he realized after

going that he was really glad he did, no matter how much money it

cost. Because if he didn't go, he would have wondered what he missed.

I sort of feel like you might feel that way if you don't go -- you'll

wonder what you missed. So just get that super power-lifting woman

confidence that we share here and go for it!

Have fun!

Colleen,

You might have a great time at your reunion if you had a lot of close

friends in high school, and if your graduating class wasn't full

of " cliques. " I only keep in touch with one person from high

school. I hated how superficial and materialistic high school was,

how cruel the students could be to others who didn't fit it. I was

actually relatively popular, but I've grown so much since then. I

didn't go to my ten-year reunion last year because I didn't want to

feel like I had to prove anything to anyone. It seems like that's

what all reunions are about: Who makes more money? Who has a nicer

car? I didn't want to play that game. I didn't go, and I'm glad I

didn't go. The one friend whom I do keep in touch with did go and

said it was pretty horrible. Your school might have been totally

different, but in general I feel that high school reunions are rather

overrated.

Hi Colleen:

I'm rather shy too, but really enjoyed my 20-yr reunion, 4 yrs

ago...yikes, I'm getting old!

I say GO! You really don't want to wonder what you missed, now do

ya? Plus, don't you want to show off your buff BFL bod? :)

Okay...I went to my ten year and had a GREAT time! Reconnected with

people that remembered " me " ..you know...the girl I was before all

this life happened to me....then I went to the twenty yr. MORE

FUN!!!! It is so empowering to meet up with all your old friends, the

ones that knew you and some of your background (like your parents and

stuff) NOW I am awaiting Oct. because my thirty year is coming up...I

wouldn't miss it for the world! In fact....awhile back received an

email from my vvery first " love " (from 6th grade) he will be there

and I can't wait to plant a great big kiss on him!

I've been. The fun part is seeing how much worse people look than

you. This one guy in my class looked like an old man. Most of the

women did not look the same at all. It was fun catching up on

everybody. My class was small, only 26, and there were only five

women. Most of the classmates were football players but even they all

had spare tires. You really will be missing out if you don't go. If

you ever need a self esteem boost go to your class reunion.

I attended my husbands ten year two weeks ago. I was so proud to be

his wife. He was a basketball star and the valedictorian (and his

wife can't spell that word ;). But the girls never payed any

attention to him because he was so shy. Well, he has kept himself

in really good shape and looks amazing...and shy guys are soooo

sweet...and smart guys are ambitious. Okay, I realize now I sound

like I am gloating, but I was so happy to be holding his hand at

this reunion and couldn't help thinking....wow, these girls did not

know what they were missing! I felt/feel like the luckiest girl in

the world! Can't tell I'm a newlywed, can ya? ;)

Thank you all for your encouraging responses! It's been said, but

I'll say it again, this is a great group with such inspiration and

enthusiasm! Heck, if nothing else it gives me an excuse to buy a new

dresss, and shoes, and jewelry and... <G> and it's a night on the

town with Hubby.

I bet you'll have fun. As time goes by, people let go of the

pretentious attitudes that they had in high school. The cliques are

usually gone and people just generally find it fun to see each other

again.

Have a great time!
