Guest guest
You are liable to get several totally conflicting opinions about soy milk. Personally, I avoid soy at ALL costs. MOST soy in the US and UK is made from genetically modified soy, very little, if any non gmo soy is still available. If you aren't familiar with GMO, I suggest googling " roundup ready soy " for more info-scary stuff, likely responsible for the dramatic increase in adult onset food allergies. I feel that rice, almond, nut, or grain milks are a better option, and ALL can be made easily in your Vitamix. If you chose not to make your own, they can also be found where boxed milk is, and in the cold milk section. There are also additives in commercial alternative milks, if that is of concern to you. Soy is far too controversial, both as a hormone disruptor and because of the GMO factor, so you might wish to read up about it and decide if it right for you and your family. I avoid it like the plaque. > > Hi, > > I'm a newbie here, and to the Vitamix. Guest guest
I am not sure about soy milk but you can always use a nut milk or coconut milk... also make sure what you are using are not GMO's genetically modified organism food that has been grown from genetically modified seeds... -------------------------------------------- ---------------------------------------------------- -------------------------------------------------------------- > > Hi, > > I'm a newbie here, and to the Vitamix. Guest guest
I don't use spy anything as it increases your estrogen levels. I did the same thing with my smoothies. Next thing you know I had 20 things in there. I try to limit it to under 5 items and usually just use clean water. Tony

Guest guest
I tried this today as my smoothies are usually too fruit heavy and I'm trying to avoid too much fructose. Very tasty. I used juice of half a lime. Still slightly too 'green' for me but very palatable. I think I could get used to this. Thanks for the suggestion. Guest guest
Hello Debbie,Try it again with a whole lemon. I think it is the lemon that "makes" this drink. I used to use 1/2 of a lemon, but gave it a try because this is how the lady makes hers. I'm glad that I tried it! I've used limes before in my green drinks and have come to discover that I prefer lemons.Next time I'm going to add about 2 drops of Stevia. This won't be enough to detect as "sweet", but just enough to slightly balance the salty flavor. I've learned that in my savory concoctions if I can have a balance of salty, sweet, and tart, they have a better depth of flavor. I can't wait to try this with the plain yogurt she recommended.
