Guest guest
Alvin- When you get the info, can you post to the group? I am interested as well as Kathy, and in addition to another person on the board was just discussing getting some today with me so I know she is interested as well. Thanks Carol
Guest guest
My sons make maple syrup. We live in southern Minnesota and they actually had some really good sap flow a few days this week, actually better than it has been in years. If you don't know, the sap runs best on nights you have a good crisp frost and nice warm, sunny days. Guest guest
Carol, there's a guy selling maple syrup and maple sugar at the Mpls Farmers Market on weekends. Last weekend anyway, he was asking about $40 for a gallon of pure grade A syrup. I'm almost positive it was Minnesota-produced syrup. Also, of general interest: at the Midtown Farmers Market (where Alvin sells his eggs) by the light rail station, there's a vendor who sells home-made cookies sweetened with honey or maple syrup. I was told by a friend that they also use crispy nuts in their cookies, per NT guidelines, but I want to find out personally. It's getting easier and easier to find things that are in accord with NT and other recommendations. ) ~Joe

Guest guest
I think maple syrup is going to be rough this year. My trees have been dripping sap on and off since Early January. I'm wondering if we've missed our opportunity. Guest guest
Afternoon everyone. Does any one have any green smoothie suggestions using maple syrup? It's so tasty and quite good for you. I already use it in pumpkin smoothies etc. I'm still adjusting to green smoothies and getting the right balance. I don't want to necessarily have a sweet smoothie all the time but I do like variety Thanks everyone! Debbie
