I knowingly moved into a moldy place in 2001 and tried to control what I knew was going to happen with CSM. It didn't do squat for me except make me squat more. A lot more, in fact, I really thought I was gonna die from terminal constipation even before the mycotoxins would finish me off. I don't mean to undermine Dr Shoemakers protocol, because I wasn't doing the whole thing, but I found that pure avoidance was so much more satisfactory that I just concentrated on that - as I still do. Well, Dr Shoemaker knows that continued exposure can pretty much overwhelm everything else for an extreme mold responder, and all I did was confirm it. -
Guest guest
The constipation does not happen with everyone. Some get the runs, while others it regulates them. I fell under the last category. From what I understand the constipation ususally happens in the beginning of the treatment and gets better in time. Some who are experiencing this problem may try taking a laxative within an hour after taking the CSM and see if that helps. Guest guest
Sharon is correct about it not happening to everyone. I for one did get constipated but took Milk of Magnesia(2 Tbs.), every night just before bed, followed by a cup of water. After that everything was great with no problems at all! Guest guest
Rhonda, Everything Serena says I ditto a thousand times!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Get yourself to Pocomoke ASAP!! I've been a patient for 2 yrs. and feeling so much better! Sue Rhonda - I started to say something about this before and let it go, but enough is enough. csm is NOT the only working part of that protocol. It's a whole protocol designed around what YOU need to suit your own condition - which you don't know until all the required testing has been done. You're worth a whole lot more than your house is. Go on up to Pokomoke City and get the real deal. There are people all over this country who would give their right arm to be even as close as you are. Git 'er done, girl. Be well. Guest guest
Low ADH does not imply that you don't or won't retain water. It only means that your body doesn't know how much to keep or how much to let go. Even with a strong diuretic, I only found I had to increase the sorbitol slightly to compensate. I got no particular benefit from eating one kind of food or another, at least not where the csm was concerned - probably because the csm is purposely taken between meals and digested separately. I did find that a lot of dry bread or crackers all at once is a lousy idea - maybe even without csm. Here's a factoid for you: Did you know plumbers use wadded up Wonder Bread to stop up leaky pipes while they work? I've even seen them use whole grain if they didn't have Wonder Bread handy. Guest guest
How many people on this group tried CSM and it didn't help at all? So it's either constipation or the runs? That doesn't sound fun and I have to be at work. I'm writing a letter to my neuro now and giving Dr. Shoemaker's links and phone number and asking if he will consult with Dr. Shoemaker and treat me with the CSM etc. I still haven't got an email back from me telling Dr. Shoemaker's site I only received one of my two books I paid for. Do they have a 1800 phone number to call? I didn't see one on the link. Guest guest
No, csm is not a fun medicine to take. The alternative, however, is a helluva lot worse. Rhonda - I started to say something about this before and let it go, but enough is enough. csm is NOT the only working part of that protocol. It's a whole protocol designed around what YOU need to suit your own condition - which you don't know until all the required testing has been done. People do use it alone out of desperation, and because it's the only part of the protocol they know about. Or they do it because they're too sick or too broke to travel. Or they skip it because they decide they know better. Or they delay doing it at all because they hear a lot of wrong information from people who never followed the actual protocol in the first place or ever actually had all the testing done. This just gripes my butt to no end, because we're not playing around here. (And that's putting it a whole lot more gently than it deserves.) Personal pet theories, internet rumors, and government bs get people dead from this stuff. You just saw it happen, and the poor guy WAS trying his dead level best. I don't even wonder how much he was held back by all the theoretical crappola he was handed, because I already know. He needed expert medical care and never got it. You're close enough to go up and see Shoemaker from where you are. Please don't tell me you're too tired. When I went there, I couldn't even dream about doing housework or making repairs. And I had a whole lot further to go than you do. I rolled up there with one foot on the gas, and the other propped up on the seat to hold my left arm up to the steering wheel the whole way because I was too weak to do it any other way. I ate only at fast food windows because I wasn't sure I could go in and come back out again. Coming home, I went 200 miles out of my way because I couldn't keep track of directions through the brain fog. Slept in the car because I couldn't remember motel names and couldn't see well enough in the dark to get all the way away from the road. If it weren't for some very nice people I stopped and asked every hour or so, I wouldn't have made it home to fill the prescription for the dreaded csm. You're worth a whole lot more than your house is. Go on up to Pokomoke City and get the real deal. There are people all over this country who would give their right arm to be even as close as you are. There are people who have to wait and scrimp and save for months and months to do what you can do, if they ever get to do it at all. You don't get the right medical care, you won't be working at all period ever. Reverse order. Go see Shoemaker first, then let your neuro see the labs and sit in on your phone consult later if you want to. (If Shoemaker could teach the whole thing in 15 minutes flat, he would have done it already, you know?) Git 'er done, girl. Be well. Guest guest
LOL- I forgot about that! The plumber did that at my house too, and it really worked great! probably does the same thing in our innards. > > Low ADH does not imply that you don't or won't retain water. Guest guest
Yup. Blew my mind. I was always so on-the-go that I picked up that habit of eating wadded-up bread as a quick snack from my dad. (Depression-era people got some pretty basic ideas about what was good, didn't they? Keeps you full + practically free = lux-shoo-REE, y'all. I thought it was pretty tasty that way, myself. Saw what that plumber showed me, and I got the same ideas as you. Which (doh!) did not prevent me from getting stupid and trying to eat all those crackers with csm. You'd think I would have figured that one out. But nope! --- In , " kl_clayton " <kl_clayton@y...> wrote: > > LOL- I forgot about that! Guest guest
I can't even get the 2nd book I ordered from Shoemaker. I have to find out if my health insurance will cover out of state doctors and might need a referral if so. I'd like to get some type of estimate what all his testing cost. Guest guest
I spent precious months of my life and health trying to get it covered by the ins, only to have the coverage revoked a year later. Definately call the insurance and see if they cover " out of network " (that's what my co calls it) doctors. But be aware: Most companies use these clauses to exclude expensive coverage. And it was difficult, in fact impossible in my case, to get them to pay for any of this. They were very happy to pay for useless expensive tests by doctors who had NO CLUE, but for saving my life, they just give my doc trouble. Jerks! If you were to ask for my advice (which you did not) I would lovingly advise you to forget the insurance coverage for now, and make the appointment. It will take time to get in, as he is very busy. In the between time, you can try to get the insurance company to play ball. In the meantime, you are taking positive steps to get out of the mold he__, also in saving your own life. Not to mention saving your bunnies. > > > > Rhonda, Everything Serena says I ditto a thousand > times!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! > > Get yourself to Pocomoke ASAP!! Guest guest
Thanks Sue, It's good to know what people can do to deal with that unfortunate circumstance, ha! Thanks for the info. I'll try it. Loni ssr3351@... wrote: Sharon is correct about it not happening to everyone.
