Hello Ladies,

I've been making the shakes on days when I'm

doing the lifting, I don't usually bother on a cardio

day. One thing though, is that they are too thick

and make me gag near the end.

I tried making it with ice and water, but need

to figure out how much ice/water to use. Do you

use 2 cups of ice? Or twice as much? I figure if

it's slushy I'll just love it. :)

I bought frozen strawberries, to try out and see

if that helps, I add a few to balance out the carb

to protein ratio. I just have plain Myoplex, you

can't get Lite or Deluxe at the store I frequent.

So how do you make your shakes?

Tink :)

Tink,

You can visit the vitamin shoppe on line and they sell the variety

packs. fyi

I make cappichino shake in am: 1/2 banana, shake mix, water, ice,

Udo's.

We make for variety sake:Pina coloda, vanilla shake, 1/2 banana,

small amount pineapple,water.ice.

If yours are too thick add more water. I use ice cold water out of

the fridge, and crushed ice. I always have 1 1/2 shakes because I

put a lot of water into it. And it is crystalized a bit from the ice

cubes...

Hope this helps. I have a great bartender blender. IT will crush

anything... So having a good blend is helpful.

Other wise how is it going?

,

Thanks! My blender is awesome so the ice crushing should be no problem. :)

I'm going into my third week. I can't believe it's been 3 weeks already I'm

so shocked. Haven't missed a workout, the scale moved last week down

6.5 lbs. Mostly water weight I am SURE from Pms.

I take my measurements and my four week pictures next week! Holy cow!

My stomach is still fairly puffy...Maybe I'm an apple shape? (my pictres

are in C1 for Tink on the groups folders for pics) Maybe by then I'll get

brave and post the bikini top and bottom pics at four weeks. I'm not

expecting

a big change because its' only been 4 weeks. By 8 weeks I'll expect to

notice some changes. :)

My legs are pretty tight, the only flab is inner thigh, so I may add the

inner

thigh machine to cardio day...because it's REALLY flabby.

My eatings' been okay. I get frustrated on free day because I don't get

a chance

to have all the stuff I want...LOL...I get too full! hee hee

Okay, I'm done babbling now! Thanks for asking me though!

Tink :)

I have the Myoplex lights if that makes a difference, but here's one of my

favorites: 1 pkg choc mint Myoplex Light and 1 c skim milk, 1c water, a large

handful of ice cubes and blend till super creamy looking, then add a couple

drops of mint extract. This is so good! The down side is that it fills a 32oz

cup and I have a hard time getting it all down b4 it separates into sludge. I

usually make it in the AM and take it with me to work in an insulated mug. The

skim milk adds 80 calories so some people may frown upon it, but these are

Myoplex lights so they are lower in cals to begin with.

Do you know how to make Myoplex pudding?? I'd love a recipe, if anyone has it.

Thank you so much for the info about Myoplex/Myoplex Lite issue as

well as addressing my question about adding fruit. Is it ever okay to

add fruit for taste and texture, or would that be over doing the

carbs...probably, eh?

Thanks so much!

Technically there is enough carbs in there for you and you shouldn't add

more BUT, I say, why the hell not add some as long as it's not a huge

quantity. If *I* was going to add in fruit though, I'd add only a little

and I'd use that shake for a post-workout meal when my body is just

screaming for nutrients and my glycogen stores are depleted.

What about using protein powder (23 g protein/2 g carb) instead of Myoplex stuff

and adding fruit?

That's fine :) Just make sure you have about equal amount of both. I do

these as well because I get bored fast. I usually make one in the morning

and bring it to work for one of my meals. If you take flaxseed or udo's oil

at all, you can also add this into your shake.

I think that's a good idea. I will definitely have to try that. Being

so new, I've never really thought of different things to experiment

with, I've been following the book to the letter, but I'm sure Mr.

wouldn't mind! Thank you very much!
