Guest guest
Hi everyone, I think I'm feeling the same way as Kathy R. at the end of this day. It's hard to be in this state of chronic change and always trying to be prepared as we deal with our OCDers. andra is in the midst of an increase in her Prozac. Last week it was great, really helping her depression. This week, Dana's words describe her behavior best: over-excited, way too exuberant, mouthy, impertinent and obnoxious. She is calling us names and screaming words that a five-year-old considers really naughty, such as fart. And she's delighted with herself!! All this and we're still less than halfway toward the dose that her doctor thinks will start to work on the OCD. My thoughts are with all of you and I wish I was going to the conference in May. We decided not to go for financial reasons and am now starting to regret that decision. Take care, Lesli desk@...

Guest guest
Hi,I'm so up set when I read about these children and the way the drugs are making them;WHY doesn't the doctor see it I think they should ALL have to spent some time on a list like this and read letters from all these parents. This many people can NOT be wrong. When Klyee was upped to 75mg. of Zolft I saw the same behavior you have been talking about. We took her to a new DR. he added adhd and added more meds.AT that point I couldn't find my e.Her teacher Never saw ADHD till she got up to 100mg.of Zolft. (Now whats wrong with this picture.)e's ocd symptoms where still there, and I had a child that was hard to like.Last week I took her down to 50 mg. of Zolft.,and I'm starting to see more of my e.The teacher saw it right away. CAN WE BOTH BE WRONG? She is with her 3hrs every day I'm with her the rest of the time,(Her symptoms are still the same ,but her behavior is SO much better.Stand your ground ,when you see things change,I think OCD is getting blamed for allot of what Meds. are causing. Thanks Beth Re: meds and behavior > From: Masoud Molaei <desk@...> > > Hi everyone, > > I think I'm feeling the same way as Kathy R. at the end of this day. Guest guest
, Zoloft made my daughter over-excited but not mouthy and impertinent, and only slightly obnoxious. Then she started having crying spells for no apparent reason. This happened two days in a row and I had to go and pick her up from school early. It wasn't like an OCD " meltdown " . In fact she was almost detached from it, she said " jeez it would be nice to make it through a day without crying " in a slightly amused and puzzled tone. We stopped the zoloft. Good luck in court tomorrow, I'm sorry you have to deal with that. Oh, and I have an OCD husband too and I LOVE having a garage! It keeps stuff out of the house and he's a neat freak too. In a way it's great because I have ADHD and I just leave stuff out a little too long and he cleans it right up, files it labels it....whatever...all in the garage. Dana W. Birk wrote: > From: " W. Guest guest
Hi Lesli: Your desciption of Xana's BSE's from Prozac reminded me a lot of Steve, except with him it was physical as well as verbal. I have always regretted how fast we titrated him up on his Paxil since we were trying to get a handle on his depression. When I compare that to how gradually and carefully we titrated him down I wish we had been slower on the way up. Perhaps with the liquid Prozac you can increase this very slowly and have less BSEs. (noodles@...) on the OCD-L is a seasoned expert at liquid Prozac and the gradual approach. You might want to contact her for some useful input. Guest guest
I recently discovered that Paxil comes in a liquid too, so this is another drug that can be increased gradually if necessary. Guest guest
HI Dana: Thanks for the reminder. Actually Steve had a prescription for the liquid form as he was titrating down off his Paxil. Unfortunately just five days before he was due to go to 5 mg and we were going to fill the liquid prescription, his depression came back and so we had to up him back up to 20 mg. His psychiatrist reassured us that he may yet be able to go down when the issues of puberty are behind him. Actually on 20 mg he is so much more alert, happy and functional than he was on the 60 mg. Guest guest
Sorry, somebody has probably answered this question already. We switched our 7 year old just last week to Luvox from 100mg Zoloft for the same reasons. I was told by the Doctors that one of the side effects of Zoloft is anger etc, however I have my doubts that this was the reason. She had been on this dose for over a year and just recently had this problem. I think that her body is changing and that is the reason. If you just started Zoloft then certainly this could be a side effect of the medication. Good Luck. W. Birk wrote: > From: " W.
