Guest guest
Peggy~ I assume you don't live in Alaska so you could order from Rainbow Meadows (and I am going to contact them to make sure my shipping info is up-to-date). If you have any concerns about their Bitter Almond, ask them. I am sure they would be happy to help. 2 oz. of Bitter Almond (rectified) is 10.11. Their website is www.rainbowmeadow.com and their toll-free # is 1-800-207-4047. Please LMK what you find out. ) HTH Blessings ~ Tammy Gladheart Acres

Guest guest
Thank you to everyone who responded either onlist or off to my inquiry for Bitter Almond eo (rectified). I had stated that Rainbow Meadows had an extra shipping charge to Alaska but when I contacted RM concerning this I was informed that my info was incorrect (or maybe I misunderstood it?). So today I gladly ordered the Bitter Almond from RM. My apologies for misrepresenting them :o/ Blessings ~ Tammy Gladheart Acres

I have also read that it may be partially absorbable through the skin. The thing to do is to look for Bitter Almond FFPA (meaning " free from prussic acid " )which means most if not all of the prussic acid has been removed. It wouldn't hurt to ask the supplier to provide you with a Certificate of Analysis to back it up. Be careful with this one! Toxic in large doses and a regulated controlled substance not just for the toxicity but also because of its popularity in producing street drugs. There are other forms of " bitter almond " generally sold as nature identicals (similar chem profile) that you can easily obtain, but they will not be of the pure natural sort and predominantly consiste of benzaldehyde. To obtain true bitter almond requires filing of documents, justifying purpose of request and all requests for it (at least legal requests) are tracked. It is sometimes referred to as amandin. As a side note, it is considered by some a powerful anti-cancer remedy that has been the subject of controvery; many vendors that were selling it for this purpose have been shut down for doing so. ________________________________________________________________________________\ ____ Never miss a thing. I use Almond bitter oil in extreme dilution to produce Heliotrope compound for my Heliotrope Potpourri. It is indispensable for Heliotrope! I bought my Almond bitter oil years ago when it was still easily obtained. However, I will need to buy more in the near future and am wondering what type of scrutiny and red tape I am going to go through in order to resupply perhaps only 1 oz of it? I never heard of Almond bitter oil being used to produce street drugs. Do you know which drugs are made from it? >There are other forms of > " bitter almond " generally sold as nature identicals >(similar chem profile) that you can easily obtain, but >they will not be of the pure natural sort and >predominantly consiste of benzaldehyde. This, of course, would not be an option for us natural perfumers because nature identical/benzaldehyde are synths. >To obtain >true bitter almond requires filing of documents, >justifying purpose of request and all requests for it >(at least legal requests) are tracked. Liberty Natural carries it and it is FFPA. However, since it is controlled by the DEA, you have to fill out an application and provide a lot of personal information (photocopy of your driver's license and social security card, and so on) that I don't feel comfortable providing what with identity fraud. And then it takes 2-4 weeks to get processed. (See the regulation information on the website for this item. You gotta jump through some hoops!) , I take it your in Australia. The rules may be different there. Patty ________________________________________________________________________________\ ____ Never miss a thing.
