Chuck ,my 13 month old grandson has a rare form of apparently genetic anemia known as Diamond Blackfan. Unfortunately, the common medical treatment for this is prednisone, which he has been on for about 6 wks. As in other conditions, it seems to have boosted his red production, but the unwanted side effects of hyperactivity and weight gain are frustrating. This boy's father had a similar condition when he was two years old and was successfully treated by Lendon with vit B12 injections, other supplements, and diet. I am looking for a medical or naturopathic resource, preferably within the Portland Metro area, who has a viable alternative to prednisone for my Grandson Timmy.
