Guest guest
Hi Mandi: Steve's comment took me by surprise also. To me, deplete, means to use up, chelating means to pull, so I think he was saying that the chelators use up the minerals. To me, again, depleted/chelated have the same outcome, the minerals are gone and have to be replaced. Also, I remember when people were saying 11 months was the magic time for td-dmps, now it is 2 years? It doesn't matter to me, I see the td-dmps or dmsa as just a cover for the ala, which I believe it was is working for us. Cover in the sense that the other two chelators make it possible for us to use the ala, which we cannot use alone. Or couldn't just 6 weeks ago, we are going to try it alone again. Does that make sense? Mandi, sometimes I see you like me, thinking about this stuff so much that at the end of the day, my brain actually hurts. If sheer determination could make Sam completely well, he certainly will be. I know, I know the feeling/sentiment and determination. Also, did you get my question on warming the skin before applying the td-dmps or is it just too stupid to answer? Re: Re: TD-DMPS schedule. Was:Trying something new... Hi m Would you mind explaining the rationale behind your switching of the dosing schedule. We have been prescribed TD-DMPS on alternate days (as per Buttar) for my grandson and I can see the logic of giving the minerals on the off days. However I read of many people using a more frequent dosing schedule, with smaller doses, because of the relatively small half life of DMPS. >>>I am using one chelator to do totally different types of chelation. Buttar's theory is based on constant redistribution of metals, the frequent dosing is designed to mobilise, pull, pull, pull so by the end of a round, there should be very little left to 'redistribute'. Frequent dosing has always made absolute sense to me. Buttars is a nice theory. We are 15 months on from the boom that rattled round Autism One in 2004. I am not seeing enough spectular gains reported as appeared to be coming at first. I wasted too much time getting started, I can't 'waste' 2 years trying his protocol IF it turns out his theory is flawed or there are indivdual circumstances that help the process along. There are many kids improving, all the time I am trying to analyse from parent posts, what is it these folks have in common. I frequnrtly disappear up my own proverbial and you manged to glean more from the TD DMPS reports than I ever have LOL This way I am combining two protocols, I trust that frequent dosing is doing something, so this way I feel I am still Actively going after those damn metals. I figure the testosterone thingey is relevant in our case. I always forget Sam has dual disability, he is extra male which comes with its own set of issues, speech delay being one of them. But he had 3 words before he regressed so I don;t think that figured so much for him. I have never withdrawn minerals for more than 24 hours coz Sam got very pale (we did it twice), he is pulling metals and his last RBC were fine. Steve from Oz posted the other day explainign that chelation DEPLETES minerals which is different from CHELATING them. I know just what he means but I can't explain it. Hopefully he will, or maybe .......... Anyways 24 hours in, its going well, no rashes with the extra applications, very emotional - as in being told no you can;t have a kit kat - I thought the world had ended, huge tears and distress, very OTT. Had dark coircles mid monring so I threw in an extra 30 mg of Optizinc and he was back to normal within the hour. Joe's birthday party day, which included taking screaming 10 year olds to the beach - when I invited Sam off the prom and down to the beach - he came...........and went in the water, and had the best time splashing around with them all. He only ever went in the sea once before - he doesn;t like the movement underfoot with sand - he happy to stand in it on the prom so I am figuring its the unpredictable movement, I may be worng. anyways, it was lovely to watch the fun I just read this and I don;t think it makes any sense................did I mention the 5 sreaming 10 years olds arghhhhhhhhhhhh Does the "3/11" mean 3 days of dosing and 11 days off? >>>YES - but I will do 48 hourly dosing on the 11 OFf days too - thats what is making it different to what I have tried before. We did 7 on and 7 off when we first started TD DMPS Mandi in Dorset UKWife to (Self Dx AS), mum to Tom 10 NT, Joe 9 NT and Sam 8, 47XYY, Autism, Heavy Metal Toxicity, possible Seizure Disorder and terminal cute-ness
