Actually Bill does mention them, not in the list but on another

page. In my opinion, all fruits are fine. Yes, some are higher

glycemic than others, but you eat them with a protein which slows

absorbtion. I ate a banana about every day of my first challenge

and did fine.

--- Yayness lynda!!! I eat bananas too! I like em..so I eat em..could

be worse..I could be eatin cheesecake..come on!! now bananas are a

better choice than that! Gosh..I am glad to hear that from you! I

simply could care less about the glycemic index..that stuff can just

confuse me and make me crazy..I eat what bill says I can eat....blah

blah blah.... like you said..you eat a banana with a protein and it

slows absorbtion...and look at you lynda..you are a hottie..I would

listen to lynda!!! I just get really sick of hearin don't eat bread

or dairy or bananas..you can't reasonably follow not eatin bananas

and bread the rest of your life right? right.... eat the carbs you

like that are authorized and you will kick butt! OH my gosh..I am

freakin on one tonight..sorry bad night that did not turn out the way

I wanted it to! Sorry..I hope I did not come off mean..these are just

my opinions..freakin out about not eatin bread and bananas and cuttin

them out is part of why I put 70 lbs or so back on...I have a soft

spot for this issue... I just don't want people who are new to bfl

starting to confuse themselves with the carbs..you eat what bill

says you can eat..and it works. simple and easy! umm..*hides under

chair ready for the stones to be thrown*

Go for bananas that are " less ripe " (without brown spots), etc. and

maybe a hint of green still.

Do any of you ladies use frozen bananas in shakes? How do you freeze

them? In the skin, out of the skin, when ripe or green, etc?

Why should the bananas be yellow. I occasionally use 1/2 a banana

when I use a whey protein powder to make a smoothie. It is yummy

I add low calorie cranberry juice

1/2 small banana

1/4 cup rasberries,

1 tbs of flax seed oil

and about 6 ice cubes.

It makes a huge smoothie with about 19 grams of protein and 18 grams

of carbs

I freeze them without the skin. I put them in separate baggies for

portion sizes.

I've read that the more brown a banana has, the more sugars it has.

So it's better to eat them as " less ripe " as possible. On the other

hand, I'm sure a brown banana is a lot better than other choices we

could make :)
