Subject: [OEM] Federal NIBS IAQ report covers chem & elect. sensitive persons

The Architectural and Transportation Barriers Compliance Board (Access

Board) is an independent federal agency devoted to accessibility for

people with disabilities. The Access Board is responsible for developing

and maintaining accessibility guidelines to ensure that newly

constructed and altered buildings and facilities covered by the

Americans with Disabilities Act and the Architectural Barriers Act are

accessible to and usable by people with disabilities. They also are the

agency that receives complaints under the Architectural Barriers Act.

In case you might not be familiar with the Access Board, their webpage

is: http://www.access-board.gov/

The Access Board funded a study on indoor air quality that was released

this summer by the National Institute of Building Sciences.

The NIBS webpage is: http://ieq.nibs.org

The link to the 98 page PDF report is:

http://ieq.nibs.org/ieq_project.pdf

While the report contains many recommendations that could improve indoor

air quality in general, I believe that the NIBS report should receive

some attention regarding the recommendations for chemical and

electrically sensitive persons. The report states:

" There are a significant number of people who are sensitive to chemicals

and electromagnetic fields " .
