Guest guest
I was wondering since EDTA is used as a mold inhibitor in canned food, could EDTA chelation (besides removing lead, arsenic and other heavy metals) also help in mold illness ? I am asking this because, I have heard of some people feeling better on it even though they are not really high in heavy metals. I know that EDTA is also a good antioxidant like other chelators like DMSA and DMPS. Does anyone have any info on this please ? Thanks Jay
Guest guest
I am looking into this also & would like to know if anyone has had good success. My environ doc said that the chemicals (mycotoxins) are hard on the kidneys so doesn't use it. I am wondering, however, if one treatment or treatments really spread out would be ok. I do think they can chelate out this way per my doc. The other avenue is oral EDTA chelation. I have ordered a product called NDF from Bio Ray. It is also a natural chelator with cilantro in it. I have heard good things about this. Check it out on the web. Guest guest
Some VOCs emitted by mold action on, say, old paint/wallpaper might contain heavy metals as a product of the decomposition process? Carl would probably know more about this. (I do know that old wallpaper attacked by mold can emit arsine, which contains arsenic, which is a powerful toxin..not a heavy metal, though) Hope that helps.. Guest guest
Another thought.. Old homes that (sometimes) have mold also (sometimes) have lots of disintegrating lead-based paint.. so lead in ones environment and mold in one's environment are probably often found together..especially if you live in a home that has suffered from 'deferred maintenance' as its (too) kindly often described.. Guest guest
......On Behalf Of Loni Rosser I am looking into this also & would like to know if anyone has had good success. Am wondering the testimonials you've received about this product; did the people have urine tests to prove the product works? The reason I'm asking I only saw one lab test certified by Doctors Data. Another site cited 3 urine tests from the same woman. Not doubting you; just curious. I also noticed their statement which I've copied and pasted below: " Based on the results of comparative 24 hour urine samples analyzed by an independent clinic and lab, a person can safely excrete up to 920% (9.2 times) more heavy metals per month taking NDF daily as compared to doing one DMPS intravenous injection per month. This greatly shortens the time required to achieve detoxification, an average toxic adult person requiring a maximum dose of 2 mls. twice a day for a period of about two months. NDF has also been observed to remove mycotoxins, endotoxins, chemicals (including prescription drugs), arterial plaque, scavenge free radicals, and protect against radiation damage. " These are some impressive claims and I wonder if they have actual proof that the NDF actually " removed " mycotoxins, arterial plaque, etc. Since you have ordered the product, did you ask about these claims and if so what was the response? I also noticed that they recommend taking several of their other products for " safety " . Another issue are their instructions for those taking NDF who still have " mercury " fillings. I've also copied and pasted it below. Instructions are detailed; what I do not comprehend is the reason to take activated charcoal caps after taking the NDF which I would think would bind up the NDF? Any thoughts on this? Just curious Rosie Patients with Amalgams and Other Metals in the Teeth The following are the patient instructions I have used for the last year and a half with patients who still had metals in the teeth, or who could not come in to see me, with no side effects reported.. 1. Take whatever is required to produce 2 bowel movements that day. Usually Epsom salts or OxyOxc. Wait 30 minutes. 2. Take one ounce of SunRise (contributes an electro negative charge from fulvic acid, bioavailable nutrition and immune support). Wait 20 minutes. 3. Brush your teeth with 10 drops of NDF and spit it out. Rinse with water and spit that out. 4. Put 3 drops of NDF down the back of your throat (with an eyedropper or syringe), followed by rinsing and spitting with water. 5. Put one-three droppers full (26 drops) of LiverLife into a 10 ounce glass of reverse osmosis or distilled water and drink. Wait 30 minutes. 6. Take 4-6 caps of activated charcoal. 7. Drink 8-10 oz reverse osmosis water every hour until the next urination. 8. After that urination, switch to Vitae or Trinity water (pH 9) and drink 3 oz at a time whenever thirsty. 9. Prepare your meal, raw, alkaline forming and according to your blood type, in a high powered blender. Chew where you don't have amalgams or drink slowly. (No chewing gum.) 10. Take 1 tablespoon of Pines low temperature barley grass powder twice a day after meals in Trinity water (alkalizer). Wait 30 minutes. 11. Take another 4-6 caps of activated charcoal on an empty stomach. Gradually raise the dose of NDF to 3 drops twice a day, repeating steps 2-7 for the second dose. After that, the goal is to gradually get to 1-2 droppersful twice a day without provoking a nervous system or healing crisis. If you reach a point where you feel anything other than better, revert to the previous dose. You may not feel much improvement at first because the dose is rather small at the beginning. The important thing is that it doesn't make you worse. If NDF only makes you feel worse, switch to NDF-Plus and start with 1 drop, following the same instructions above. If none of this works, come see me. NDF gets to the brain in 20 minutes, NDF-Plus in 5 minutes, so you can find out by trial and error very quickly. Guest guest
I don't have any scientific proof. I am trying it because it was recommended to me from a friend that used it successfully. It looked as though the ingredients were natural. I am not suggesting anyone try it. Just look into it if you are so inclined. I've been looking for alternatives to CSM due to my low low cholesterol. Guest guest
Loni, have you tried activated charcoal? That (activated charcoal) is available without a prescription and, I've heard, does similar things as, although its not as effective, as cholestyramine (CSM) for mycotoxins.. BTW, EDTA is available as a nutritional supplement, (for people wanting to try oral chelation of mercury, etc.) and its not very expensive at all. (But again, as far as I know, they don't effect mold/mycotoxins in your system at all.. they are sometimes used to help reduce heavy metal and perhaps some other toxic chemicals in your body, and this is a controversial, somewhat contentious subject..) That said, beyond-a-century.com has these combination garlic-EDTA pills that I tried around a year ago when I was still trying to figure out what was ailing me.. They were very inexpensive. They also have EDTA in bulk, so you can cap it yourself.. People should take supplemental vitamins and minerals if they take these chelating agents, I've heard, because the literally suck nutrients out of your body.. perhaps leaving you depleted for all sorts of things. Ask your doctor..

Guest guest
I think he was talking about EDTA but he did not say which one. He thinks that IV would hurt the kidneys so I was debating oral but Jeff does not think that is will work. So I will do more investigating. Check out NDF chelation on the web. I am going to try that. A few people recommend activated charcoal. Also PC3x is a cellular detox I got from my NMD. Guest guest
Thanks, Loni. Jeff told me the same thing. I wasn't going to rely on chelators to remove mycotoxins.
