This is just a suggestion, but if Sharon is still coughing up green junk

after this long, then I think she needs to have this checked out. Maybe it is

just bronchitis and the perfumes irritated her bronchial tubes, but sounds like

it could maybe be " walking pneumonia " which might not have the typical pneumonia

like symptoms she had before. Could you get a specimen cup from the doctor and

have her cough up the junk in it and have it sent off for culture for both

bacteria and fungi with sensitivities. That way they would know exactly what to

treat her with. Good luck. I hope this clears up. If not, I think she does

need to go to the doctor

(for her.) Not so, the coughing got worse, she started coughing up

alot of mucus,(sorry to be gross) green in color, the extent of it

was so thick that it caused her gag and throw up, repeatedly. It

almost sounds like pneumonia. She feels it's not, since she has had

pneumonia 4-5 times in the past (during her exposure) and it is not

the same symptoms, ie: fever, burning chest pain, tightness, etc.

She can feel the rattle or wheeze deep in her lungs and can work it

up by repeated coughing. She can not lay down flat for any period of

time (starts to choke), so since Christmas she has not gotten much

sleep. This has also caused another effect that she has not had

previously, her urine now smells (as she puts it) sickenly sweet,

like a kids fruity drink,not to mention that she now has no control

over her bladder.

Can anybody explain or have had a similiar reaction to this form of

lung infection and why? Why would a chemical hit do this that

quickly? We do not have the funds to run to the doctors for x-rays,

plus if we did go, they would just want to pump her with antibodics

without any proper diagnosing. Lab, bloodwork, etc.

She found it interesting when she ran into a surgical nurse at a

store when she was looking for some guaifenesin to help break up the

congestion, but she forgot her glasses so she had to ask the cashier

to read the box. At this time we did not know she was a nurse until

they started conversing. Maybe I should say a burnt out nurse and

very frustrated with our medical community, along with their

procedures. She said " oh you have a cold " , Sharon said no and

started to explain. Her next comment was, " you have MCS and you

lungs are filling up with fluid. " (The store got busy so the

conversation had to come to a close.) Surprise, suprise. What did

she mean by this and why is this happenig? I can't wait to hook up

with this person at a later date.

Can anyone help explain this type of reaction? I am very concerned.

, I returned to my mobile home in early Dec. After about a week and was

coughing up green stuff. Ifinally went to the ER and they called it " early

pneumonia " , which I think some call walking pneumonia. The gave me a round of

Zithromax but I was still congested. I went to my CFS doctor near Dallas and he

gave me an IV of Rocephin. I am not coughing up green stuff but my lungs still

feel " heavy " . I think that it could have been caused by mold.

I don't think this is much help to you as mine wasn't MCS but thought you

should know.

Kathy & Bob,

It seems to be finally clearing up, thank goodness. Because we do

not have the finances to visit any doctor right now. It could be

bronchitis or pneumonia, but the symptoms weren't the same and when

she does get or did get a cold it went straight into bronchial

pneumonia within 24 hours. This only happened when she was working

in the contaminated building and that was 5 years ago. After

Dr.Shoemaker reviewing her x-rays and pointed out the collapse

bronchial tube, that the hospital said the x-rays were normal, there

is still that possibility. In order for me to get her to a hospital

I'd have to hogtie her, in other words there is no way she is going.

At least not to the ones around here and the ones in Atlanta don't

seem much better.

Sorry to hear Sharon is sick- sounds like she has a bladder

infection- better not let that one rest- cranberry concentrate and a

round of anti-biotics might be in order. Strangly, my mom got these

same 2 symtoms over xmass- they considered her bladder the worse. I

don't know why some things knock us back so terribly- but she needs

treatment

I'm glad to hear that Sharon is feeling better.

I could be wrong, but it has always been my

understanding, that green mucous indicates a severe

infection.

The fact that Sharon was able to cough it up, was

good. Coughing it up is something I have never been

able to do, not even when I was hospitalized with

Pneumonia 2 years ago.

I hope Sharon continues to improve. Take care, and

Bob,

Am glad the Rocephin helped you. Those who have sensitivity to

penicillin have to be careful.

, I do hope Sharon is much better. With lowered immune systems,

we with MCS are more prone to infections.
