Guest guest
Hi Barb ~ It's frustrating when you are anxious to receive a package and it is delivered late. I wonder if the package was delayed at a bulk point that was two days away, instead of one when the storm hit. It may explain the extra delay. They have a heavy delivery load this time of year too. I'm not trying to make excuses for them, just trying to surmise why they might be late. So far I've had good luck with UPS, but we'll see if this snowy weather season creates some delivery delays for me as well. I do think that FedEx has a more efficient system than UPS and takes their promised delivery dates more seriously than UPS too. I've had a package from WSP in the system for 2 days now - I can see not delivering it on Thursday due to the snow but Friday our roads were plowed and cindered.. in fact I took my 86 y.o. neighbor to town on Friday afternoon AND the FEDEX guy delivered a pkg. from downstate on Friday. We even have a parcel box down at the end of the driveway so the delivery guys don't have to come up here to drop off packages. Used to be the guy would leave all of our packages at the Agway in town until we complained so now they just ride around and around in the back of his truck.... Guest guest
Me Too! I have been waiting since last Tuesday for three different orders.Thr tracking says their coming and then nothing. Grrrr... When our lady UPS driver delivers we have no problems, she deserves an award, but the guy is a real bozo! I live between two little towns 6 miles each way and the one had two trucks running around the other day in the snow. Go figure. Guest guest
I used to sell AVON and i often had issues with UPS deliveries, I think that despite the fact that you have a parcel box the problem may be UPS guy having to come to your home cause UPS requires signitures on all packages to ensure they go to the right person and if its not shoveled/plowed to your door they wont travel it... especially if you have one those long distance rural drive ways..lol..oh also one other thing to consider is the weather conditions in the city the UPS package has to travel through that can slow up the package as well. Guest guest
I've always loved my UPS drivers and have had a great experience. I was home last Thursday and waiting for a package to come with my jars for bath salts. Needed to get them done and delivered the next day. I checked the tracking # around noon and it said that a delivery attempt was made at 10:30 but that I was unavailable. I was so upset because I've never had to be home to get packages before and this time I was! I was complaining and complaining and my husband told me I should lighten up because we got 10 inches of snow that day. The next day, he arrived with 8 packages. 7 were Christmas gifts that I had ordered and the 8th was my bath salt jars. He shyly explained that he pulled in my driveway and stopped to organize things and his truck started to slide backwards so he didn't attempt to come up. He's right. The plow hadn't come up my driveway until later in the day. I felt bad for complaining after that. They do have a lot to deal with when the weather gets like this. I don't live far in the hills but we do have a long driveway off the road and it's all uphill. He apologized and seemed sincere so I forgave him! :-) Turns out I didn't need to deliver the order until Saturday because the manager of the shop wasn't going to make it in until then. It all worked out and that's the first time that's ever happened. They've been great every other time. Katy
Guest guest
oh i absolutly LOVE UPS. I think everyone should use them. Al the other shippers out there are horrible. Fedex to me is way too slow. it takes them over a week to deliver something and they never seem to have the right estimted shipping dates. they say it will come on such and such a date. Iwait and wait on that day go back to check that date and they changed it to a few more days later. The post office stinks too. Same thing. But with Ups they ship things and it arrives in like 2 to 3 days alot of times. Just last week I went to go mail something out on Monday and they told me that it will arrive on wednesday.I was completely impressed. in the meantime I placed an order the monday before and fedex said itwouldn't be delived until the 19th. I was so frustrated because I told my parents that i could order from my suppliers and get it in 2 to 3 days. Unfortunatly that was from a supplier that used UPS not the supplier who i needed to order from. I LOVE UPS. > > Is it just me or do other people have problems with UPS in the winter??? > I've had a package from WSP in the system for 2 days now - I can see > not delivering it on Thursday due to the snow but Friday our roads were > plowed and cindered.. in fact I took my 86 y.o. neighbor to town on > Friday afternoon AND the FEDEX guy delivered a pkg. from downstate on > Friday.
