Sugar alcohol does not affect your blood sugar the way real sugar does. Here is

an article I found on it. It looks great to me and the Odessy Bars are SOOOOOOO

yummy!!!

Odyssey Bars/Sugar Alcohol Question

I saw a post yesterday that someone said the Odyssey bars taste like

snickers/detour bars but only have 2 grams of sugar. I looked into

them and they really look great (30 grams of protein, 290 calories

and have the same flavor as detours). However, they contain more

than 20 grams of " sugar alcohol " which the company's website says is

a " nonimpact low glycemic carb " .

I generally try to keep my sugar intake very low--I look for bars

with 3 grams or less--but what is the real effect of having such a

high sugar alcohol content?

THANKS!

Heh, from personal experience: GAS! Sometimes CRAMPS! And that weird

rumbly sickly tummy sensation that can only come from something not

agreeing with your digestion system!

One bar every few days is prolly kosher, but DEFINITELY no more than one

sugar-alcohol-containing-thing a day. That stuff is just too weird to be

considered " real " food!
