We planted a garden this year for the first time ever. We planted

from seeds to see how it would work out. However, we put it in the

back yard and we don't think it gets enough sun. Plus we think some

neighborhood bunnies munched some plants as they started to peek

through the dirt. LOL!

We have about 7 cucumber plants, 3 or 4 zucchini plants, some lettuce

(not sure how many), and about 9 carrots. There may be some cabbage

too, but I'm not sure if what it growing is cabbage or weeds. LOL!

We didn't get any pole beans or corn to grow.

A friend gave us 3 tomato plants and dh planted them upside down in a

bucket. They're starting to curl up the side of the bucket already.

None of us likes tomato, but I will use them to make sauce.

We also planted a garden because of the higher cost of produce. Next

year we plan to move the garden to a better location where it's more

level and gets more sun. :)

Tomatoes: early tomatoes, heirloom tomatoes, roma tomatoes, cherry

tomatoes, and grape tomatoes, LOL. We've also got summer squash, zucchini, and

cucumbers. I have to find a butternut or acorn squash plant, and I'm all set.

For herbs, I bought basil, rosemary, marjoram, thyme, and pineapple sage. I

think that's all. :-)

Grow garden, grow!

Sounds like they need more water and compost. If you don't compost

yourself, you can buy humus or compost. Some cow manure might help, too.

If you buy the neem oil, spray a bit on your squash plants to help with

that, too.

HA HA you sound like us with all the differant tomato plants. my

mother LOVES the 4th of july tomatoes, but last year they were hard

to find so she went out early and found seeds and started her own

this year. THey have ripe tomatoes by july 4th of course. and are a

perfect size as well both the tomato and plant as we plant them in

pots for the patio.

All across the back of our garage are pots of tomatoes. Grape cherry,

4th of july, some sort of husky tomatoes(suppose to be short bushy

plants with larger tomatoes)i think we have like 24 plants all

together. lol

I have some started potato plants I cant use as I planted all I need. If

anyone wants some let me know.

Im starting some cuttings from my sage, lavender and the chocolate mint

really can be just transplanted. I love herbs. I dried all my sage in the

attic

last fall and then sealed it into a container to keep if fresh. I love sage

in alot of cooking and love the scent.

Thanks Tina! Can these be grown inside taking up minimal space? I

don't have a lot of room but would love to try parsley, basil, and

oregano.
