It turns out that the CD RW needed to be replaced, this is what McAfee messed up on my bro-in-law's computer as well. I emailed McAfee about this and all I have received from them as a reply was an invitation to take a survey regarding their customer service. Since that was the ONLY response I had gotten from them, I of course gave them the lowest marks possible with the explanation that they got those marks since the only response I had received was the invitation to that survey. STILL waiting on McAfee to give me ANY other response and that email that I sent to their customer service was sent on July 20. Well, I will be getting my computer back tomorrow and will be so glad. IF it was not reformatted then I should be up and running with my cable modem within 5 minutes of getting the CPU back home, otherwise, I do not know how long it might take. Tonight should be the last time that I need to use hubby's computer for Internet/email access. Guest guest
I am doing a lot better since I gave up and decided to use email addresses for my email groups/lists and just download the other emails that go to my 2 types of email addresses (comcast and netzero) to my various email addresses. The only thing is that if I reply to an email that was sent to my ISP email addresses that they then show up as coming from my email address that is associated with that particular email address which would result in them being rejected by any email list/group, hence, having all the email lists/groups that I am part of send their emails to my email addresses. ===== T. aka Pegasus Messenger pegasustom MSN Messenger pegasusnumber1@... Guest guest
Hello Maybe you can use one of those wind up radio's and get people to wind you up every now and then. I think that if you use those MP3 players instead of the CD player, the power consumption would be way less.
