Guest guest
I have an iPod to which I have downloaded music, lectures, photos, and even learned to record lectures. I have a cell phone on which I have learned to schedule appointments, store hundreds of contacts, take pictures, connect to blue teeth, and play stupid games while waiting in line. I have Macintosh and PC (yuck) computers which connect to our network, home, each other, printers, faxes, and my colleagues, on which I have learned dozens of programs to do all sorts of sophisticated tasks. I have learned to differentially diagnose all sorts of human conditions. All of us have done many similar complex things. Why do we need to take seminars which feature scary items like “Avoiding Allegations of Fraud and Abuse” to learn such a simple process as coding Dx’s from our training and Tx’s from our training, with OUR chosen fees for the Tx’s? I think Dr. Warner hit the nail on the head, pointing out that the AMA makes $80 million per year from sales of coding books and CD’s, and whole industries are created to help us with common sense reasoning proving that commons sense is not that common anymore. This stuff makes me want to go to Sweet Home to the Side Track Tap and discuss curmudgeonly things with Jack until they throw us out and we have to go to the truck stop to continue our conversation! Next up, how to remove any reference of gender from everyday speech. Avoiding Allegations of calling girls: “Girls”, and other forms of Abuse. ( E. Abrahamson, D.C.)
