Your price was too low to begin with, but with so few bars, you likely didn't feel the pinch. With 200 bars, you will. I wouldn't go below $2. She's lucky she's gotten what she has for that price already, IMO. Are these the molds that are packages also, so you don't have to unmold? Use this as a learning experience to prepare your wholesale order policies so that you know how much money you have to make in order to make it worth your while. Guest guest
Colleen, I would not lower it below $2.00 a bar. You need to make a little money also. --Colleen ston <countrymeadowcreations@...> wrote: > I have a lady I sell wholesale to on a non-regular > basis. Guest guest
Thanks for your responses!!! Yes, Beth, these are the clamshell box molds. However, I unmold them and wrap with plastic wrap for her. I don't plan on doing any other wholesale accounts anyway. School & life is taking too much of my time! Thank you both again!!! Guest guest
Hey !!! It's good to hear from you again! Thanks for your input too! I already emailed her letting her know I won't be lowering the price. I have a feeling that she won't have me do them because of that. I also offered to send her back the molds so she could have one of her other soapers do them for her. Guest guest
Hi Colleen I haven't posted in a LONG time but I want to give my opinion on your question. DO NOT lower your price!! Also, may I recommend that you get 1/2 payment in advance along with a written order. I speak from experience on this one having gotten burned bad 2 years ago!! You may think it won't happen to you that her customer changes her mind but if she does would your customer still purchase them? I doubt it. So please please be careful. M. Wholesale Pricing ? I have a lady I sell wholesale to on a non-regular basis. LOL!! Meaning she contacts me every few months or so to place an order & all her stuff is custom made, it's not stuff I normally make to sell. Now, I have made her palm tree bars (the clamshell mold WSP used to carry). She sent me 6 of the molds, they are 5 color pours plus the pour of the bar. I charge her $2 per bar, and she charges $4.75 retail. She sent me an email asking if I could possibly do 200 of them for a customer. That'll take me a couple weeks with so few molds and that labor-intensive of a job, plus time out for the rest of my life! My question to you all, is it unreasonable to tell her I won't lower her normal cost of $2 per bar, even though it's a large quantity? Thanks for any input! And yes I do realize that my price was way low to begin with. LOL! Guest guest
Colleen, a 5 layer soap is a lot of work, let alone 200 of them. Dont lower your price! She is already making more money on it than you are and you are doing all the work! If she takes the sale somewhere else, you will still winn by keeping your sanity! Shaye Wholesale Pricing ? Guest guest
winn by keeping your sanity! " LOL amen to that Shaye.. IMHO I would NOT lower it either. And I would also get a hefty down payment until she becomes a " regular " purchaser.
Guest guest
It's not a 5 layer soap, it's a 5 color soap. Layers would be easier!! I emailed her and told her I wasn't lowering the price & gave my reasons. She fired back asking if I didn't want to make her soaps at all any more to let her know. LOL! You gotta love email! She also said she didn't expect a price break. Colleen is getting tired of doing this anyway. I'm going to be going thru my supplies and dwindling the excess. I got a letter from our county tax auditor today saying I filled out my business personal property tax form incorrectly. Last year I claimed $67 for molds and had to pay $47 in taxes. Ummmm, something is wrong with that picture!!! Colleen - who needs to go take a nap! http://www.countrymeadowcreations.com
Guest guest
Wow!!!! She's getting these at a real bargain. No, I absolutely would not lower the price. And doing laundry, taking care of the kids, cleaning the house, going to school, doing homework, going to the grocery store. People who don't make the product don't understand the time frame involved. Good for me but the other wholesale account I had has dropped off the face of the planet, website gone & everything. I'm working on Easter stuff for the museum gift shop now. The manager there is easy, I tell him I'll bring stuff in a week & show up 3 weeks later & he's happy as pie. LOL! Guest guest
Hi Colleen: With that much labor I'd up my price! Especially if she needs 'em quick.
