Guest guest
You can make a nose stick just like a lip stick balm in a tube and then just rub the chap stick on the tip of your nose and inhale the scent of the balm. Just don't put any castor oil in your lip balm formula, you don't want a shiny nose. LOL! Also, make the formula a stiffer. You can use these a combo of essential oils, or any EO's you like: - peppermint - spearmint - camphor - menthol - lavender Marisol in Brooklyn Colleen ston <countrymeadowcreations@...> wrote: I don't have any advice for you, but just had to say you gave me a chuckle with the subject line. Guest guest
interesting. I've never heard of a 'nose stick' before. Is that really what they are called? So, if I go to the drug store and ask for a nose stick, will they know what I mean? sounds pretty cool anyway. Guest guest
Lorrie, I really have no idea what they are called. LOL! Just trying to help someone out with creating one, I believe. I know Vicks carries one of those vapor inhalers, but I can't remember the name. Or maybe it's just an inhaler. And those don't provide any chapped nose protection or anything. LOL! So I was thinking maybe a lip balm tube will do, and then they could create their own inhaler and have protection from the oils and EO's they use, sort of like a cross between an inhaler/nose balm for those with allergies or stuffy, runny noses. And I think if anyone went into a store and asked for a " nose stick " they could possibly think they've been hitting the bottle. LOL! Marisol in Brooklyn canterburycabin@... wrote: interesting. Guest guest
You can get the inhaler blanks here at http://www.naturesgift.com/oilbottles.htm - scroll down about half way. (I included 3 of them in my Yankee Swap Box - along with some sample vials of appropriate EOs. ) You simply place a few drops of your EO on the insert pad. I've also made a " vapor-rub " using a basic balm recipe and a sinus EO blend. I put some in " deodorant tube " and some in lip balm tubes. www.BlueMountainBotanicals.com Re: Nose Stick Tube You can make a nose stick just like a lip stick balm in a tube and then just rub the chap stick on the tip of your nose and inhale the scent of the balm. Great eo suggestions. If you just want to sniff, and not apply anything, just use wax--beeswax, carnauba, or soy. Guest guest
i was gonna make the same suggestion, something that could be rubbed on the nose but also inhaled in like a chap stick or lip balm type container ...but i am thinking that menthols on a chapped nose might not feel to well so u might want to use sparingly if you do use it.. will have to make the base soothing to the sore skin but the scent strong enough to do its job ..make make small sample batches to start out with... i dont have bad allergies but i get nasty colds sometimes that i could use something just like what you want to make for my nose when its stuffy and so sore u cant blow yer nose anymore..lol Tina I don't have any advice for you, but just had to say you gave me a > chuckle with the subject line. Guest guest
LOL! Yeah, that's what I thought. See, I'm the person who might have gone to the store asking about a 'nose stick'. Geez, I don't drink, but you're right, they probably would have thought I was a little loopy. Thanks Marisol. Have a nice night!
