I haven't, because I wouldn't have any idea on how to calculate my lye.

Maggie, you can but I am just not sure what you would look for in running it

thru the lye calculator. I would think that the canola would make it a

softer soap too. Maybe someone else has used this oil and can give you

better advise?

Maggie,

I've tried corn with great success with the addition of coconut, palm. I used

shea butter as superfat.

Maggie,

Sorry, I must have read this message with my eyes closed. I swear, I read,

" corn " in there somewhere. If this is a combo oil with canola/olive/soy together

then you would have to know what percentage of each individual oil is in the

blend to determine what numbers you're going to plug into the lye calculator as

Shaye stated. Sometimes it's stated on the bottle, for example: 90% canola, 10%

olive for frying.

Ilanit is the specialist on this, she loves rice bran oil. I have to say I've

used it and

impressed with it, nice flavor, doesn't get the food greasy and not expensive.

recommended for

using in sautéing, and some not? Which?

it is best not to overheat olive oil

If using in cooked dishes - add towards the end - eg I water sautee

greens and then would add it towards the end so it does not really fry

many people use it for frying and it does not do well at too high hears.

I feel nauseated now when i have it this way

rice bran oil is very heat stable and hardly absorbs into the food so

it is a great choice for tempura and deep fried and shallow fried dishes

i also still use sesame or toasted seseam oil and now camelia tea oil

when using oil in cooking which is not that often

just now i used the latter to grill pumpkin and zucchini and that

worked well.
