Guest guest
Shaye, your first soap recipe must have been quite an interesting revelation! I decided to go through all of my 'records' since I started soaping. (A nice sit-down project while recouping from my surgery). I found things that I had in triplicate because I didn't remember saving it the first time. Recipes that I will never make, charts, property sheets (oils, fragrances), suppliers that have since gone out of business. I have soap-making books that I just 'had to have'. Hopefully I can finish this project and then go through all of my other soap 'stuff'. Packaging, molds, equipment for different projects, etc. Hmmmmm, I may need more time off from work. Does anyone else have this problem? Time does go fast while doing this and there is always the 'should I save this? Maybe I'll make this another time'. Wish someone could wave a magic wand for me..... Jeanine Jeanine's Hummingbird Soap Works
Guest guest
Jeanine, I have the same problem, but even when I go through it I look at a recipe and say oh that sounds nice, I think I will make it and never get around to it. So, guess it is about time for me to do my spring cleaning that did not get done in the spring. Thanks for the nudge. --- Jeanine <jlv40@...> wrote: > Shaye, your first soap recipe must have been quite > an interesting > revelation! Guest guest
Oh Star, It must be the curse of all soapers . Would be nice to catalog everything and file it away for ‘future reference’ LOL My problem is that my memory is not what it used to be. Guest guest
I go thru my recipes & supplies every year around this time. It's my annual " clean-out " phase. I don't buy anything any more unless I know I'm definitely going to use it. I just can't make the justifications now that I thought I could when I was new to soapmaking. And if items aren't selling within a year of purchasing them, out they go. I've kind-of starting living by that saying, " Do I really need it? Is it making me money? No and no, then out it goes! " That's not it exactly, but it's pretty darn close & serves the purpose!! Colleen http://www.countrymeadowcreations.com
Guest guest
Ladies, I have had paperwork on soaping since I began it as a hobby in 1994. Wow! I have duplicates, triplicates, etc. of certain charts, graphs, properties of oil lists, etc. During this year's Spring cleaning, I vowed to get rid of everything that was either a duplicate or if I no longer knew what the sheet of paper was actually trying to convey, which were hundreds of pages. LOL! So far, I'm down to my last two boxes. LOL! I had seven file boxes in the closet! I now have a place to put my sneakers and shoes! Yipee! for me! Guest guest
Me too, I did sort of a clean sweep around my desk area. I had copies of things.. price lists and stuf from wayyy back from companies that no longer exist! What the heck was I thinking when I printed that stuf out? Old old catalogs also went.. My recipes are in an accordian folder though and in a file on my computer.. or I would never find stuf. I have already wasted hours looking for stuf and I am sick of that. Guest guest
I’m thinking that putting my recipes on the computer is a good plan. Maybe when everything is organized (ha, ha) it’ll be easier to find things.
