Electrostatic Filter with Charcoal Panel

What do you-all think of this filter? It is sold at National Allergy

Supply. It says you just wash it frequently. They will make it in

custom sizes and you can have a charcoal panel added. I don't know if

you would hose down charcoal panel though. Perhaps you can order

replacements of those. The furnace I have now has a 'electronic

cleaner' on it so no filtering but supposed to 'zap' with electricity

pollutants that come through it.

I have old furnace right now so can't put anything to tight on it.

Furance people said it might be able to handle a MERV 8 but anything

that puts a stain of blower could cause it to 'bite the dust' and I'd

like it to last another year or two. If furnace people are wrong,

then they get to provide me with new furance so I have to be careful.
