Guest guest
Beth, what is the new ingredient? Its a nice lotion and my bottle is half gone but I have to be careful of what I put on my face because I tend to break out so easily. This has been and ongoing struggle for me and I have been trying to come up with things myself. And expecially challenging is that right now with the cold dry air, my face is very dry, (I have never had dry skin untill the past year or two), but most moisturizers give me a pimple or two. So I just cant seem to win. I do seem to do better with a nonemulsified oil mix with olive squalene (love that stuf). Beth Im sorry I guess I didnt help you out much. Shaye GATHERING SWAP PARTICIPANTS! Question for you For the gathering this summer, I made a lotion that contained a newly formulated ingredient that is an antioxidant and helps to retain the skin's moisture and thus prevent and reduce the appearance of wrinkles. Does anyone have feedback on how you think it worked? I'm particularly interested in your opinions on whether it moisturized your skin, and if you used it faithfully, whether it made your skin look better. Thanks so much! Guest guest
I got mine Beth, and used it up a while ago. Thanks for that contribution to the gathering swap. I use a lot of facial creams and lotions for my dry skin. Your lotion was wonderful; nice and light just the way I like it ; ) Sinks right in, leaving the skin emollient and not greasy at all. I'm the perfect tester since my skin is finicky and tends to have eczemoid outbreaks. There are very few things I can use other than what I make. I did not break out at all using your lotion. Trust me, that says a lot right there. My skin felt and looked great. I should have thanked you long before this!!!! Huggs, Bekka

Guest guest
Bekka, Matrixyl wasnt on the ingredient listing. So I was wondering Shaye Re: GATHERING SWAP PARTICIPANTS! Guest guest
Hey Guys, I dug out the Swap Product booklet. Nutri-layer (used at 3%) is the " anti-wrinkle " ingredient. Beth said one could use 5% e-wax instead.

It has rice bran wax, tocopherols, and squalene. It's a wrinkle smoother and preventer because it holds in so much moisture. I know the face can be sensitive to many things. This was the first lotion/cream I've used on my face in quite awhile. I usually use facial oil, too. I wanted to test the powers of NutriLayer, though. Guest guest
Beth, I suspect its either the Ewax in lotions or my face is sensitive to fragranced stuf (with a fo, not eo) that makes me break out in areas. I wonder if you can just incorporate the Nutrilayer in a facial oil blend. I hope you dint take what I said as bad about your lotion, I cant use my or anyone elses lotion on my face either. Same thing happens. I'd love to try it sometime mixing it with the oil blend I have come up with if I can find where to get some. Thanks Beth Shaye

It's not dangerous to use alone, but you probably wouldn't want to because it has a thick, almost Vaseline-like consistency. It actually reminds me a lot of lanolin, minus the smell. I think my next trick will be to melt some and mix it in with my facial oil to see how that works. :-) Beth _www.soapandgarden.com_ (http://www.soapandgarden.com/) www.saponifier.com

I wasn't bothered, because I know that can happen. I wouldn't be surprised if it was the fragrance, and secondly, the e-wax. I wrote an article for the Saponifier (Jan. issue) on NutriLayer, and before submitting the article, went back to Eastman Chemical, the manufacturer, to see who carries it, and haven't gotten a response from them. Honestly, I don't know whether it's in distribution yet or not. I'll let you know if I find out anything. I hate to create a demand and then have to say, " Yes, it's great stuff, but you can't get any.
