Guest guest
Hello,I've seen your post, but don't know how to answer it because I Eat Fat to Lose Fat (see the book by the same name). BTW, I count all calories from fat except those from coconut oil because according to the book, "Eat Fat, Lose Fat" it takes more calories to digest the medium-chain fatty acids in coconut oil than they provide so coconut oil is a net negative in the calorie department (or so the book says ;-)It is the cream that "foams" so to make a skim milk alternative, you have to add something that also "foams". Apparently gelatin will do this:http://www.google.com/search?client=safari & rls=en & q=skim+milk+whipped+cream & ie=UTF-8 & oe=UTF-8 Blessings,Lea Ann SavageSatellite Beach, FL(321) 773-7088 (home)(321-961-9219 (cell)))><'>www.VitamixLady.comwww..com<))>< On Nov 30, 2011, at 9:55 AM, crenita2 wrote: I am trying to figure out how or if I can make the skim milk whipped topping in the blender ?.. Guest guest
I think it was I who posted the original question on this (and I too thought I had missed seeing the answer, so I am glad you posted) I went onto the Net and did a search for any ideas on making a non fat whipped topping, and the only one I found (and the person had not tried it to see if it worked) was using nonfat dried milk Well, I tried it, tried it three times in fact, and it did NOT work (got some bubbles on the top - if one can call that foam - but certainly was not a solid whipped topping) If you find anything, would you please post it here? That is one of my only indulgences, and sure would like to know how to make it without all the chemicals that are in the store-bought ones, Les did I miss the answer to ? re making whipped topping ? > I am trying to figure out how or if I can make the skim milk whipped > topping in the blender ?.. > > I remember vaguley that in the past made some using a handblender but not > sure.. > > Need some direction or advise .. Guest guest
THank you, Lea Ann - I did see your post, but I saw only the idea of adding gelatin to make it foam (so that is not going to be a 'solid' whipped topping, right? Or have you done this yourself, in the VM?) Thanks, Les did I miss the answer to ? re making whipped topping ?> I am trying to figure out how or if I can make the skim milk whipped > topping in the blender ?..>> I remember vaguley that in the past made some using a handblender but not > sure..>> Need some direction or advise .. Guest guest
The only reliable, simple way I have ever known that worked with non fat milk, is using my Bamix hand held. And that works pretty neat. Not sure if other hand helds can do it.
