Guest guest
Hi , Just keep in there. It takes a really long time to feel that the whole thing was worth it. Three weeks is not a lot of time as TKRs go. Keep with the meds. They really will help with the therapy. I was still using the walker at three weeks, but graduated to the cane soon after. It's a good tine to be inside anyway! Best of luck, Joan in NYC, (for the next three days) TKR 12/09 ________________________________ From: fanceepants <fanceepants@...> Joint Replacement Sent: Sat, January 22, 2011 1:29:57 AM Subject: Re: thanks for info thanks for the info, I can use all I can get. Guest guest
thanks lin for the support and info . Ive been trying some of your ideas with the pillows in bed and they have helped some. Felt so good today I rode to big city with my daughter. She went inside to get groceries for me and I stayed in the car and baby sat. Baby got fussy so I had to get into back seat. Had a little trouble pulling leg into back seat but had to make it. Had fun playing with baby and when it was time to get back up to the front seat my leg wouldn't do it.. duh what a dummy@@ I had to turn around and back out the door but I made it. Its taking a lot of different tricks working with this new knee to get around. But glad I had it done..... linda in montana From: Tinopener Sent: Sunday, February 13, 2011 4:55 AM Joint Replacement Subject: Re: Re: click in the knee Hi (Montana) >>HI,,,,my pt says I will get more relief six weeks out. im on a stationary >>bike now and just can make a full rotation. But will it be just like new in a >>year...... or will I still have a limp and click? I've not had a limp for several months, so you should be limp-free eventually! It does still click though, which I found slightly irritating, as my old knee clicked, but I've got used to it now I had trouble sleeping initially but I found that supporting my knee on a thin pillow really helped me get more comfortable, and eventually I was able to go without it. To begin with I couldnt sleep on my suide at all, as it was too painful, so had to just lie on my back. I used a vee pillow as well as my usual one to raise my shoulders a bit - that helped as well. I had real difficulty for a couple of months getting comfortable on my recliner though - I tried so many combinations of pillows and cushions - sometimes needed a different set each day! Hope you improve soon Lin, UK, TKR 6 months ago
Guest guest
I'm probably too late to help you....but perhaps my response will help others. I too suffered from restless leg... bothered me especially at night (usually woke me up at 1AM, and kept me awake until 4AM).... After a few nights of this I decided to " use " my awake time to do another set of exercises... I found that the trick (for me) to break the wrestless leg was to do stretches. I would do stretches each time the leg started twitching and I was able to go back to sleep.... My problem with wrestless leg seemed to happen from weeks 3 through 7 post-op. After that, I didn't have too much of a problem. Hope this helps someone... -skip- > > Hi , I also had the restless leg symptoms, with involuntary twitches > and muscle pulls especially at night.
