Blade D

Hi. I own a Vitamix 5200. My sister gave me a Vitamix Blade D for Christmas -

it's just a blade, no container. Can I use this? I've seen the shorter

containers for dry blades and didn't know you could just buy the blade. Or is

this a replacement blade? I googled and can't seem to make sense of it. Would I

just screw this into my existing 64 oz container to grind grains? Thanks for the

help!

My guess is that this is a Dry Blade. It is "possible" to switch out the blades between containers, but not at all recommended. IF this is a dry blade (a quick call to Vitamix customer service will confirm if it is) you can purchase a container shell for around $35 I think and you would then have a dry container and a wet container.
