Guest guest
Hey all... to update... Hannah (12 in 2 days EGAD) needs a speech device. We have been fighting the school for 2 years (documented) and they finally purchased one for her after the last IEP. They " lost it " and then it arrived but they didn't want to give it to her for the ESY. I filed a complaint with the ODR and they (the next day) began training her on it but then decided to send home paperwork for us to sign saying that she can't ever take it home. Can someone PLEASE tell me what the benefit is for Hannah to only be able to communicate from 9 - 2? It is my understanding that they do in fact, have the right to make this determination but I feel that it is wrong and am not withdrawing my complaint. I think she should have access to it for the summer. It's a freakin SPEECH Device... we don't get MA and that's why they are fighting us. Any advice, ideas?
