Our family has been strengthened and encouraged by your support. We do not see any way we could have continued our appeal for Kirill without you. THIS IS THE BODY OF CHRIST. We hope and pray that we can be such an encouragement to other families the way that you have been an encouragement to us. We have truly been overwhelmed with the outpouring of love you have shown to us. I wanted to let you know that God is answering your prayers in powerful ways. We have been very encouraged by the GOOD news we have been given over the past two days. Earlier this week, our case was looking very bleak. We shared this and asked everyone to begin praying and sharing our story. Wowza.did you ever! It's been all over blogs, Facebook, websites, prayer lists.I could go on and on. Kirill's story is spreading and bringing attention to " the least of these " , which in turn, brings glory to the name of our Lord. Isn't it awesome that God is using a tiny, nonverbal, blond-haired boy in a Russian orphanage to glorify him? We should all learn a very important lesson from Kirill about how God loves and uses the most unlikely people to spread the Gospel of Christ. Our lawyer in Moscow feels that he will be able to file our appeal with the Supreme Court on Monday or Tuesday of this coming week. After that, we hope that the Supreme Court will hear our case quickly. At this time, we are unsure if we will be travelling to Moscow for that hearing. It is not required that we be present, but we are waiting for our agency to guide us if it would be beneficial to our case for us to be present anyway. Of course we are going to be there if there is any chance that it could have a positive impact on our hearing. But it isn't typical for families to be present for the appeal so we are just not sure what to do right now. Will you please join us taking some specific prayer requests to the throne of God as we begin our appeal process? * Pray for Kirill; that he is safe, loved, and comforted by the Holy Spirit. * Pray for our attorney to have wisdom and that the Holy Spirit will give him the words to speak on Kirill's behalf. * Pray for the Supreme Court officials who will be hearing our case. * Pray that this process would move quickly. * Pray for all of our agency representatives in Russia. * Pray for the judge and prosecutor in Kirill's region, that they would know Christ and understand the value of children with special needs; that these children deserve the love of families just like children without special needs. * Pray for wisdom, strength, and joy for us as we are going through this difficult circumstance in our life. Pray that God would receive all of the blessing and honor for our sufferings. We are honored to follow him even if it means our life isn't easy or always pleasant. We are joyful because we know that this trial is making us rely on him alone. We know that God is close to the brokenhearted and we feel his presence in a powerful way. * Pray for the Hook and Moreno families, who are also trying to adopt children with Down Syndrome from Kirill's region. The Hook family will go to court with the same judge we had on Thursday. The Moreno family does not have a court date yet, but they have visited their daughter and are waiting to receive a court date in the near future. * Pray for all of the children of this region; especially those with special needs. Pray that they would be allowed to know the love of a family. Pray that they would be able to experience the love of Christ. Psalm 82 1 God presides over heaven's court; he pronounces judgment on the heavenly beings: 2 " How long will you hand down unjust decisions by favoring the wicked? 3 " Give justice to the poor and the orphan; uphold the rights of the oppressed and the destitute. 4 Rescue the poor and helpless; deliver them from the grasp of evil people. 5 But these oppressors know nothing; they are so ignorant! They wander about in darkness, while the whole world is shaken to the core. 6 I say, 'You are gods; you are all children of the Most High. 7 But you will die like mere mortals and fall like every other ruler.' " 8 Rise up, O God, and judge the earth, for all the nations belong to you. Again, thank you for standing with us. The words " thank you " are so inadequate for how you have blessed us, but I hope you understand that these words are so heartfelt. We hope we are able to throw a big party for Kirill someday and you will all be invited to meet this special little warrior for Christ! <http://orphanjusticecenter.com/2011/03/28/kirill-an-update-and-thank-you/im g_0039/> Description: http://orphanjusticecenter.com/wp-content/uploads/2011/03/IMG_0039-150x150.j pg Tesney www.oureyesopened.blogspot.com <http://www.oureyesopened.blogspot.com/> Prayer changes things. ~ Multi-faceted Jules Be kind, for everyone you meet is fighting a harder battle.~ Plato The resurrection gives my life meaning and direction and the opportunity to start over no matter what my circumstances-~ Flatt.
