Sweet Leaf is the only brand I use so perhaps that is why I like/tolerate it? I also prefer the whole-leaf version (black instead of clear), but it is getting almost impossible to find in stores :-(http://www.amazon.com/dp/B001EO5RG8/ref=asc_df_B001EO5RG81837559?smid=ATVPDKIKX0DER & tag=hyprod-20 & linkCode=asn & creative=395093 & creativeASIN=B001EO5RG8The reviews are interesting. Now I'm going to have to try this on my skin! :-)I prefer things to be as unrefined as possible, so always gravitated towards this Whole leaf version. The Sweetleaf clear (refined) verson seems to get really good reviews on Amazon.com regarding a lack of bitterness. http://www.amazon.com/SweetLeaf-SteviaClear-Liquid-4-Ounce-Bottles/dp/B001E5E3JY/ref=pd_sim_gro_3That being said, the unrefined (black) version is not bitter to me, so I must have a deficiency of those "bitter receptor" taste buds :-) My husband and kids don't even like the Sweetleaf clear version, so I'm right back to a statement I made earlier - some people never will like Stevia :-( One other thought though… I think that when I first got off of sugar and switched to Stevia it tasted somewhat bitter to me - now I taste no bitterness at all, so perhaps a person's senses adjust? All I know is that I will never consume a chemical imitation of sugar, and honey or molasses messes up my blood sugars (even high glycemic fruits do too) so for me, it is Stevia or no sweetener at all. I attribute the biggest part of my "healing" to getting off of sugar and wheat - I feel fortunate that I can tolerate Stevia - especially now that even high glycemic fruits are starting to affect me...

Different brands of stevia can have very, very different flavors. Some are really nasty or weedy or bitter, but there are some really good ones out there too. I get the one I enjoy, Sweet Leaf Stevia Clear, at a big savings on the Vitacost website. Its the first non-neurotoxin alternative sweetener I've found that has taken the place of sugar for me.
