Guest guest
I need feedback as soon as possible. We are a Military family and have had our dog for almost a year now. My husband wants for us to re-home her due to being Military and housing rules, etc. We are discussing this as a family as best we are able but I am afraid that he is going to insist, for many reasons. (too much to go into but our dog is a GOOD DOG and I really think that he is overly worried about our moves and housing issues and just too lazy to really look into it... other military families have dogs and also have more animals than are " allowed " in housing) I tried to get our pediatrician a while back to write a letter that Alden would benefit by having a companion animal. He will not do that UNLESS a PT/OT or other therapist recommends it FIRST. In other words, he won't be the primary person to initiate this. The PT/OT etc. at Alden's school said that they would look into what they were allowed to do but that THEY are restricted on many recommendations! How do people get a dog certified as a " Companion " to their special needs child? I am NOT just looking for an out to housing... I am fully convinced that Alden benefits by having his dog. Any help is appreciated. Kiersten
