Guest guest
Here in I'll, the wait list is over 21,000 with no one being pulled now. Luckily, Karrie's name was pulled when she was 8 months old. She has been on one program since then and recently switched to children's home based waiver. She will switch over automatically to adult waiver when she is an adult. Sue mom to Kate 21 and Karrie 15 w/ds and autism Sent on the Sprint® Now Network from my BlackBerry® DD services I'm curious about wait lists in other states. Here in Oklahoma (population ~3.7 million) we have a waiting list for Developmental Disability services (through Dept of Human Services) that is over 6100 people. Those who have been waiting the longest applied in April 2004. The list basically hasn't moved since at least 2008, may be 2007. What state are you in? Does your state have a waiting list? How many people are waiting? How long have they been waiting? ------------------------------------ Click reply to all for messages to go to the list. Guest guest
In VA, there are at least 3 waiver types that I know of (for adults). Our child has been on the waiting list for one she is eligible for since 2007. There are about 300 on the waiting list now and slots are few and far between-often given to new or lower on the list individuals due to emergency situations. Recently saw an ironic post about the situation relating a mom's response to news that her child-on the waiting list for 9 years-finally had gotten to the top. The punch line was, " We moved to Ohio in 2009. " I'm pretty sure that ID and DD waivers both currently have waiting lists-E & D doesn't, but no one seems to be able to qualify for that one.
