Guest guest
I grew a stevia plant this spring and summer. I bought it at Hall's nursery. It grew very tall. I tried to grind up the leaves in the Vitamix with some tea but all that came was green stuff in tea - no sweet taste. How do you get the sweet taste out of the leaves? Thanks for the info. Guest guest
Center for Science in the Public Interest is another source of information on food safety, based on science. CSPI does not accept FDA opinion, they review the science to form their own opinions. Here is their page on food additives. As of now, the pink and blue packets should be avoided. The yellow packet is not on the avoid list. http://www.cspinet.org/reports/chemcuisine.htm My guess is that most of us would like to avoid all food additives if we could. I just wanted to mention the organization, in case anyone was interested. Amy
Guest guest
Some CSPI's comments on Stevia here: http://www.cspinet.org/nah/05_04/sweet_nothings.pdf Apparently Stevia's cautions are not from only the FDA, but also World Health Organization, European Union and Health Canada.
