Hi everyone.

I'm Pamela from Chile and mother of two, Vicente who is 5 and Rodrigo (DS) who

is 3. He is going to preschool where Vicente also went and is right across the

street from my house. When I was expecting Rodrigo and Vicente was at preschool,

all the teachers were excited about his coming and telling me how fun it would

be with both boys together. When he was born they told me they would love to

have him there and that he would be great and loving (they have had many

children with ds in the preschool) so it was a just a matter of him learning to

walk well for him to get in. He's been going there since September and he loves

being there, all the children with him just love him and hug him and kiss

him.,.. it's really lovely to watch.

It's summer here and very hot, so I'm going to try to lose the nappies and if it

doesn't work, I'll try again next Spring. No pressure from my side. But today

after being in the pool we left him without nappies for 2 hours and I took him

once to the bathroom and he didn't pee himself!!! I was really excited and

wanted to call my mum but my hubby said it wasn't such big a deal (goes to show

you that most men do not get things!!).

What we are experiencing is quite some rebellion from my eldest and a lot of

jealousy, so if anyone has any tips on how to deal with this, I'd really

appreciate it. Vicente last week told me that Rodrigo is ugly to him and that he

doesn't love him anymore. It was quite a hard blow to me, but we have been

talking about it and he has changed over these few days, the good thing is that

Rodrigo loves his big brother and wants to always be with him and he kisses him

a lot, so that helps when telling him his brother is beautiful.

Anyway, I'll post a pic of Rodrigo so you can all meet him, since I went through

my own intervention on the issue. I have pics of him everywhere now, and I can't

seem to get enough of them!

Well, take care everyone and we'll keep in touch,

Pamela.
