You can puree the food with your vitamix machine and strain the pulp with a nut milk bag. BTW, I have a Champion Juicer (very good juicer) and the Vitamix + the nut milk bag is still easier to make juice with (considering clean up) than my good juicer. Also, I can get the pulp dryer by squeezing it in the nut milk bag than the juicer gets it.

Hi,A normal centrifugal juicer will do ok, they are a cheaper option (eg Breville) - if you have seen the movie 'Fat Sick and Nearly Dead' by Joe Cross, that's what he uses - I would strongly recommend watching it if you haven't already, he's an Australian who does a 60 day juice fast across America and improves his health dramatically! If you can afford a more expensive option, a masticating juicer gets more juice out but takes longer, here's a website that reviews them to give you an idea of the different brands available http://www.masticatingjuicerx.net/

Thanks guys! How does the vitamix do with wheat grass? does it extract enough juice to be squeezed thru a nutbag? Is the vitamix alot faster than the masticating types?Faster including the straining? You can use a strainer with the vita mix. But if I do ever get another juicer it would be the on by Jack Lalane. handfuls of wheat grass into the vitamix smoothie I was making at the

time...

I read a lot of reviews before purchasing an Angel masticating juicer. Juicing

is a slow process, but that's what you want. Pulp comes out SO dry. No need to

strain the juice when done because there is NO pulp in it. Wheatgrass is not a

problem. The chute is narrow to prevent overfilling to give it time to work, so

cutting fruits and veggies is usually necessary. I like that it's stainless

steel so carrots and such don't stain it. Not terribly time-consuming to clean,

but it's definitely not as quick as the Vita-Mix. THE best juice, but on the

expensive side.

There are lots of comparisons online. I couldn't find the video I liked, but here's a print comparison (I'm not affiliated with this site) between two of the popular juicers: http://www.rawfoodlife.com/Greenstarvsangel.html. I also have a Jack LaLanne juicer I purchased many moons ago when they first came out. Not good. The difference is incredible.

I am really confused: Does she really mean she juices pasta? Or am I

reading this wrong?

I almost never switch between fruits, veggies and pasta at the

same session, so changing juicing screens occasionally isn't a

problem for me.
