Guest guest
I made Dean's Nutty butter with honey roasted peanuts and mint chocolate chips for a Christmas party I am going to tomorrow. Great taste for the holidays and Publix has Ritz crackers buy one get one free now. I am going to cut up some apples and serve them along with the crackers. Thanks for the recipe idea. This has too much sugar for me to eat, but my family likes it a lot. Janet
Guest guest
Sounds fabulous. I am headed to store Monday to pick up what I need to make it. Can't seem to find the honey roasted at either Sam's Club or Costco here, so will get at grocery. Guest guest
Velda, that's too bad. I picked up my honey roasted peanuts at Sam's but my M & M's at Costco, because they had a better price on those! Now I just have to do it!!! Fran In a message dated 12/17/2011 8:24:16 P.M. Guest guest
Last year I got all sorts of nuts at both Costco and Sam's, from Creme Brulee to chocolate flavored almonds. This year, very little other than their regular stock of raw and roasted nuts. I keep looking though every time I go, in case I missed something. Now Costco did have large bags of peanut mnm's but I had not heard the recipe until after I last visited. Back there again this week I suspect. Guest guest
I made 21 jelly jars of it yesterday. 4 Dean's Nutty Butter (milk chocolate M-n-M's), 4 White Chocolate, 4 Butter Scotch, and 4 dark chocolate and one "mixed" which I used as I transitioned from one batch of nut/candy mix to another.I used my Champion to churn out this many jars in short order :-) Blessings,Lea Ann SavageSatellite Beach, FL(321) 773-7088 (home)(321-961-9219 (cell)))><'>www.VitamixLady.comwww..com<))>< On Dec 25, 2011, at 6:04 PM, fradal@... wrote: Well I made a few jelly jars of this for my brothers and sisters, in addition to my usual cookies and date nut bread. Guest guest
When you use the Champion, do you mix the ingredients before you put them in to get an even mix? Do the shells of the m-n-ms still show after going through the juicer? Or are they pulverized beyond distinction? RenaIf God brings you to it, He will bring you through it. Happy moments, praise God. Guest guest
I do mix them it a big bowl before running it through. There are lots of tiny (beautiful) flecks of color in the Dean's Nutty butter after going through the Champion. I think that I've only made it once in the Vitamix and can't remember if I looked at the final product in the jar to see if the flecks were there - anyone who made it in the Vitamix able to confirm flecks??? Guest guest
Wow! I made 2 batches with M & M's and that gave me 6 jars. And I had to wait a bit between batches so the Vitamix wouldn't overheat! I guess the Champion does this with ease but I'm sure mine tasted just as good. Guest guest
I would think it would look pretty with the little flecks of color. When you make it with white chocolate and dark chocolate ( I assume these are 'chips') do you use the same 50/50 ratio? Have you tried it with carob chips? My MIL can't eat chocolate so I thought a batch with carob would be something I could make for her. RenaIf God brings you to it, He will bring you through it. Happy moments, praise God. Guest guest
Hello Rena,Yes, I use the same 50/50 ratio (not at all a problem to go a little bit higher on the nuts - I haven't made it an exact science :-)Also, yes, I used chips (white chocolate, dark chocolate, and butterscotch). I am certain that carob chips would work (as long as they have the same consistency as chocolate) Blessings,Lea Ann SavageSatellite Beach, FL(321) 773-7088 (home)(321-961-9219 (cell)))><'>www.VitamixLady.comwww..com<))>< On Dec 26, 2011, at 1:10 PM, Rena Glubay wrote: I would think it would look pretty with the little flecks of color.
