Guest guest
I tried cilantro one day, just to see, thinking it might well taste terrible, but I found I love it. Today I had cilantro and pineapple, mango, carrot, apple, celery and I forget what else in a big smoothie, which I sipped on for several hours. mmmmmmmmm VElda On 11/5/2011 8:02 PM, flnancy1958 wrote: > going to try this one tomorrow > > >> My most favorite smoothie right now is watermelon, cilantro, pineapple and nectarines. >> >> Sounds like an interesting flavor combo >> > > > > ------------------------------------ > >

Guest guest
My only experience with cilantro was in salsa, tomatilla dip and tortilla soup so my mind was thinking Mexican spicy and not in the direction of adding to fruit. It will be a new taste sensation, I am sure. > >> My most favorite smoothie right now is watermelon, cilantro, pineapple and nectarines. > >> > >> Sounds like an interesting flavor combo > >> > > > > > > > > ------------------------------------ > > > >
Guest guest
I've never mixed cilantro with sweet stuff, only savory (like salsa and soup) but HAVE had the experience of initially not liking cilantro, then learning to tolerate it, then liking it. If I can make those adaptations, perhaps I can learn to like it in a sweet (fruit based) smoothies.Did you know that cilantro is a powerful chelator. A line from my demonstrations…"Cilantro is a powerful chelator. Something in cilantro crosses the blood-brain barrier and chelates mercury, aluminum, and other heavy metals. I call it my 'Alzheimer's Insurance Policy' to eat Cilantro every day."If a person likes cilantro in both sweet and savory concoctions it makes it easier to get cilantro into the diet daily!A warning: If you have heavy mercury toxicity, cilantro may make you worse and you should back off. Mercury hides deep away from vital organs (the body's way of protecting them) and chelators (natural and man-made) pull out the mercury from its hiding places. Unless you are clearing the elimination pathways (skin - via far-infrared saunas, bowels via proper diet and magnesium (bowels is mercury's #1 elimination pathway), and kidneys (urine) via plenty of water (1/2 oz. for every pound you weigh); mercury toxic people can get worse if you "stir up" the mercury but it can't get out. Cilantro, Alpha Lipoic Acid, and Chlorella are all 3 powerful natural chelators. All 3 made me VERY sick until I started using Zeolite to mop up the mercury as it was "released" from its hiding places. In addition to the zeolite, I've been doing saunas, coffee enemas, dietary changes, and I drink PLENTY of water.Sorry if this is too much information. Just wanted to discuss the benefits (with warnings) of Cilantro as it relates to heavy metal toxicity... Guest guest
I was putting ¼ teaspoon of chlorella in my morning fiber drink, which is in 10 ounces of water, and found that it gave me minor acid reflux so I stopped using it. Any suggestions on what I might be able to do, because I'd like to keep using it.
Guest guest
Can you tell us what the rest of your ingredients are, and if you have increased your fruit/veggie intake overall? If you are using a fiber supplement of some kind, you may be getting to MUCH fiber now, as you will have added fiber via the fruits and veggies and may no longer need a supplement. The chlorella may not be the issue, but if it is, I suggest taking it separate from your morning drink, as you may be getting too much of many good things all at once, and your digestive system just needs time to adjust. I personally found that I can't take any added supplements, as I get plenty of what I need now just from the whole foods. I think this is often the case-people don't realize that too much of a good thing is just that-too much, and that getting the nutrients via the whole food is far better on your system. > > I was putting ¼ teaspoon of chlorella in my morning fiber drink, which is in 10 ounces of water, and found that it gave me minor acid reflux so I stopped using it. Guest guest
Hi, . I fill my shaker cup with 10 ounces of water and a fiber product (which I sell, so I won't use the name) I must use to keep my cholesterol and triglycerides in check. (When I started taking it, in less than 60 days, my cholesterol went from 257 to 201 and my triglycerides went from 238 to 167; and both numbers continue to drop). If you're ready for a long list, here are the ingredients: guar gum gum arabic locust bean gum pectin oat fiber calcium carbonate beta-glucans natural and artificial orange flavors ascorbic acid aspartame (wish it didn't) maltodextrin niacinamide d-alpha tocopheryl acetate natural vanilla flavor zinc gluconate pyridoxine HCI riboflavin thiamin HCI beta-carotene folic acid chromium biotin selenium cyanocobalamin (gluten free) I've been drinking green smoothies since August and haven't had a problem. I started putting ⅛ teaspoon of chlorella in the morning mixture and didn't have a problem, so I amped it up to ¼ teaspoon then noticed I started having a little acid reflux throughout the day. I evaluated what I had changed in my diet and could only come up with the increase in chlorella, so I stopped taking it altogether and the acid reflux stopped immediately. Was surprised such a little change made such a difference.
Guest guest
Hello ,Thank you for being conscientious, and not mentioning the name out of consideration. But I'm writing to let you know that you CAN mention the name on the list, and Include the link to your product - as long as it fits in with the discussion, and it isn't an obviously regular "ad" (which I am certain you would not do, due to the respect you just showed the list). Thanks again! Guest guest
Hmmm, not sure I would like cilantro taste with mint or ginger, but, I would at least try it, to see. I have never tossed a smoothie, I just grin and bear it if I don't really love the taste, because I know everything I put in it is good for me, even if the particular combo taste is not perfect. I use a small piece of ginger quite often in mine, so maybe I have had ginger and cilantro and forgotten. Guest guest
I finally made mine this morning, and kept it basic, watermelon, cilantro, pineapple, red grapes and ice. It was much thinner than I have been used to, but wanted to check out the cilantro flavor. It wasn't bad. I still think my favorite flavor is the mint and lime combo but I will do more cilantro experiments. > >> My most favorite smoothie right now is watermelon, cilantro, pineapple and nectarines. > >> > >> Sounds like an interesting flavor combo > >> > > > > > > > > ------------------------------------ > > > >
