Guest guest
Loriann, Wow, How great. And it even was an appropriate conversation, meaning that most kids do insist on knowing favorites, seeing how they stack up, etc.... in parent's eyes. I tell ALL of mine that they are my favorite, in front of everyone else. For instance-Marie, you can have the last banana, because everyone knows you are the favorite and you always get everything you want. It has actually been a fun joke, and lets them see that none are total favorites, plus it makes me make sure that they all get to be favorite. Congrats. Guest guest
Hi Loriann, It's wonderful that asked to have big boy pants on. My son seems to not know when he has to go either. I think is going to wear those big boy pants more often!! Good luck! Judy

Guest guest
speaking of tests, we just had another staffing for nathan and his p/t conference too, he gets CBM (curriculum based measurement) tests now did do the basic skills early in the year but we do have it so he doesnt tkae though anymore, that was a nigthmare, but i was shocked he even registered on it, at a kindergarten level and did better than 1% of other third graders, wow! and according to his CBM tests which he gets as the other elementary kids get them, 3x's yearly, he is doing great this year making great strides in academics has 40 some word reading vocabulary that doesnt include all the words he allready knows but hasnt been in lesson yet, and math is harder but can count to 20 and addition of +1 up to 20 etc, so I am proud of him, its soooo neat to hear him read, not up to his 8yr old brother yet, but we are all cheering him on, even nicholas. shawna. Brag > Well, had his academic testing today (in preparing to leave, and because the IEP is due and we'll be writing a new one since they lowered the diagnosis to PDD-NOS). I guess you can tell from the subject line how he did. I thought he did pretty well, even behavior-wise, except when it came time to leave. They did it in a preschool class (without kids) and all the sensory toys just about drove him nuts. > > But then the lady who gave the test called this afternoon. She wants to retest him, using a more difficult test. He did so well she wants to find one that is higher. I couldn't believe it! They based the test (or were supposed to) on expectations from his IEP. Just shows you how I follow it......I just teach as he's ready to learn. I don't even look at it after we all sign it... I figure I can do that because I have a vested interest in his becoming independent. But, knowing it was all stuff below him, I'm really surprised he answered their questions at all. Usually if it's something he thinks someone should know he knows, he plays games. He did whisper, but he answered. I had told him that if he was good and answered her questions, we would go to Toys R Us and look for a real loom.
