WOW Sherry!!!! This IS a big deal!!!!! Maddie does not use utensils either.

We do hand over hand to help her, but if we don't, she just gets frustrated

after a; couple tries and throws it. Our meals are ALWAYS messy, cause she

takes everything out of her mouth, studies it, rubs some of it in her hair,

on her legs, you name it. Then puts it back in and eats it!!!

Maybe we can get and Maddie together and can teach her how to do

it right!!!!!

LOL

Congrats!!!!! Every step forward is a thrilling one!!!

Hurray for !

If this continues, sherry, WHAT will you do with those free moments??? How

scary! But, I guess in reality you'll spend them putting " shout " on the

clothes from the previous meal.

Meal time takes up SO much time....and the prep, the meal, the clean

up.....in the summer I feel like all I do is cook, clean it up, cook, clean

it up......

Good going!

Aw shucks, you guys make me feel so good. I remember when was a

baby I went to a DS picnic and there was a mom there who was feeding her

12 year old DS daughter and I was appalled. I don't even want to

remember the things I must have been thinking about the mother. God

forgive me. Sherry, who has learned an awful lot about being judgemental

and still has a long way to go.

Sherry,

Congratulations and Sherry! I can really relate to what you have

been through. First of all my DH just got back from a trip to Orlando

leaving me here with the 3 darlings. Brook got sick the first day he left

and still is. Also I have to wash everything Brook wears after every meal he

eats, not to mention the floor is covered with food as well and we have ants.

We still feed him anything that requires a spoon to eat. He has just

recently fed himself with a spoon a few bites of his Gerber 3rd food bananas.

I'm trying not to get too excited because I feel that it is just a beginning

with him and he never eats well when he is sick. Brook also gags and spits

food out of his mouth. He doesn't chew too thoroughly.

In other news we bought a new house 3 days ago that suits our special

needs for Brook. We are selling our house and had to spend most of the day

out of the house. We have two offers tomorrow on our house so hopefully it

will work out and we won't have to keep the house superclean and be on stand

by to leave for prospective house buyers any more. It's going to be hard on

Brook changing houses, schools etc. and I really love Brook's teacher this

year. I'm trying to decide if I should drive the kids back here to school, a

30 minute drive each way twice a day, I guess that adds up to 2 hours a day.

It would only be for the last 6 weeks of the school year. I guess I'm really

going to have to think about that one.

The things we do for our kids.

Here's my mid-week brag: You all know that last week I had to fly to my

in-laws all of a sudden (on Sunday) for my FIL's funeral and viewing and

then came home on Wed. with a bad head cold and sore throat. Well guess

what -- I taeboed every day, including today, and on 1/2 of those days,

I did a basic tape in addition to an advanced tape (twice I did AL5 back

to back with a basic tape)! My cold is on its last legs and I feel

great, although I probably am responsible for the death of several trees

with all of the kleenex I went through will taeboing.

I don't want anyone to feel bad if they haven't been able to exercise.

Everyone is different and all colds/flu's are different. Plus, I had A

LOT of free time staying at my in-law's and at home sick and we don't

have any children to keep us busy. But, I just wanted to pat myself on

the back for this accomplishment.

Elena, who hopes (and Sandy) listens to her body and lets it decide

when she is well enough to taebo.

Just a short note on exercising and cold/flu. While exercising during a

cold is actually recommended, you should never exercise during the flu.

Your immune defenses with the flu are very low, and your body is fighting

particularly hard to get rid of the infection and needs all the energy it

can get in order to fight it off. My advice is if exercising actually seems

to be helping your symptoms, you probably have a cold. If exercising makes

you feel worse, you probably have the flu and should wait till the symptoms

subside before going back to your exercise regimen...

I have a tendency to deny such things. I was a little alarmed when trying to excercise made me feel terribly tired. I figured it out once I realized the headaches and chills and other various symtoms were connected to a virus.
