Buzzed those ingredients and then added my lidful of ice. The taste isn't bad, but I did go a bit heavy on the garlic. All in all, definitely a different flavor. Might try adding in some mint if I make it again, and a bit less garlic, but right now trying to prevent getting sick so figured, the more garlic, the better.

I am starting to feel something trying to get me so also taking my olive leaf.

I just want to report that between the olive leaf extract pills and this

morning's smoothie, I am feeling much better. I probably had 4 or 5 cloves of

garlic.

absolutely great idea for a smoothie, working 3 jobs I definately can't afford to get sick (ER RN here, work full time and two days in two other Level 1 trauma ERs, total 60 hours a week). Working around sick people all the time, coughing on us, pooping on us, vomiting on us, bleeding on us we,the nursing staff, are exposed to everything. My full time job can fire us if we call off sick 3 times in a year. Crazy, with the exposure to infection that we get and such an expectation to be healthy. I've come into work many times with 102 temperatures as I can't afford to call off sick, exposing the patients to my illness on top of whatever they have, too.

I have started taking garlic whole every day. Peel and swallow a whole clove every day with a meal. Done this about 6 months now. See no real benefits but still guess it's suppose to help so why not continue? No bad taste, no burping the smell either so why not?

I like the idea of a good smoothie for CAGS. This has the 'apple a day' and vita c in it. anything else that should be added?

Medically I don't know about CAGS, but it sounded interesting. However, I

really, really believe in my Olive Leaf Extract for when I first start to feel

sick. My only problem with Olive Leaf is I have never really found what the

correct dosage should be. I only take it when I start to feel bad and for a few

days afterwards. Not daily. Olive leaf is touted as a natural antibiotic. I

personally have not had any side effects while using Olive Leaf.

I read a book by uber-nutritionist, Snyder (her book is " The Beauty

Detox Solution " ). She says if you feel something coming on or are already sick

to try her immunity tea and the ingredients are: about 1 heaping Tbs fresh

ginger steeped in hot water for 2 min, then add 1/2 squeezed lemon (water should

not be super hot), 1 (or if you can take it 2) shakes of cayenne pepper and then

a little stevia to sweeten.

http://www.kimberlysnyder.net/blog/2009/11/27/immunity-tea-with-cayenne-pepper-s\

tep-by-step-instructions/

Most of those ingredients are in the shake except the cayenne.

By the way, I feel like this tea helped me avoid a cold that started comming on

and I also gave the info to a co-worker when she was getting sick and she said

it worked like a miracle for her too.

You need to chew the garlic in order to get the benefits of it. Swallowing it

whole doesn't allow your body to absorb the healthful elements in the garlic.

A tablespoon of colloidal Silver daily is a fantastic immunization

booster.

Purchasing a simple generator keeps the cost at pennies.

I haven't had an infection in over a decade since starting on this.

Okay, I can't leave a recipe alone. Made this one this morning and here are my

adaptations.

1 orange (from my tree)

1 lemon/lime (from my tree)

raw honey

ginger

apple

garlic, about 4 cloves

and some frozen red grapes

Very interesting and tolerable taste.

Had anyone tried the original besides me?

So far with this and my olive leaf, my cold is just a cold and hope it stays

that way.

We make a tincture called Super Tonic from a recipe gotten from /Shultz.  It is equal parts:Hottest onions you can find

hottest garlic you can findmixture of peppers: jalapeno, Serrano, habenaro, Anaheim

gingerhorseradish

Fill your vitamix to the top, add apple cider vinegar with the mother (this is important). Blend.  Pour into jars, cover.  Let sit for about 2 weeks; shake daily. Strain and store in glass jars with plastic lids (or metal lids with plastic wrap).

We put it in dropper bottles.  When ever we start feeling a cold coming, take 4 droppers every 15 minutes (I chase it with a little water). Then several times a day after that.  We also take echinecia (sp?).  This really seems to cut down the length and severity of colds in our house.

Feeling much, much better. Don't know if it was the olive leaf or the garlic

smoothie, but whatever, I will take a 3 day cold any day.

(Oh, did I mention I work in an elementary school?)

If you take the olive leaf as soon as you feel like you might be coming down

with a cold, it'll stop it dead in it's track. So will grapefruit seed

extract capsules.
