I would really be interested in this. I went to the website and searched

around a bit but wasn't able to find a price list. I'm most interested in

eggs, milk, perhaps some cheese and beef. Also, I'm going to be going to

Farm in Arkansaw on Friday, August 19 to pick up some chickens I

ordered so I could easily pick up an order that week to save someone a trip.

Anyway, thanks in advance for the information on the pricing!

thought I would post an announcement here especially for those who have

heard of MVV and want to try out some of their products.

Mara will be doing the next run, she will do this on Monday the 20th.

If you would like to order from MVV please get your order to me (via email

is fine) by 10 pm Sunday night. Pickup is at my house in Eagan (1/4 mi

south of 494) on Monday anytime you want (after Mara gets back of course).

You would need to leave payment here or mail to Mara.

Please note: for any raw dairy products, you MUST be a shareholder of

MVV. It costs $10 and Mara can get a share for you, if you give me your

complete name and address. The MVV website is at www.midvalleyvu.com. They

sell raw cow's milk, cream, raw cultured butter, raw Gouda and Cheddar

cheese, kefir, kombucha, yogurt, colustrum, ground beef and carry many other

products, such as Thousand Hills Cattle Co. beef cuts, bison cuts, Beeler's

brats, raw ice cream made by a shareholder, etc. Their eggs are NOT to be

missed!! They are the BEST in the region, I kid you not.

Dear Sara,

What a timely post with all your wonderful details about the pickup

and exchange of funds, etc! I'm new to this area and new to this

method of Traditional Foods. I've been gathering up information to

determine what's the best, most convenient source of products for

me.

You mentioned that MVV requires a shareholder membership. If it's

only $10/share, that's not bad at all. But, just to get my feet wet

a little with this whole process, and to determine how far your

house in Eagan is from mine in Hopkins, can I just buy some items

that DON'T require membership? Maybe some eggs, poultry, meat, or

anything you can suggest. I can come and pick them up this Monday,

if that would be okay. I'd love to try some cheese also, but that

might fall under the category of raw dairy.

Let me know, and I'll email you my order. Do you also have a price

list? I didn't see one on their website.

get the freshest ones that have never been refrigerated. do you think there

would be 4 dozen available? i could use 4 dozen every other week.

Hey Angie,

Welcome to the Cities! Yep, sure you can order any non-dairy products just

to get your feet wet and to test the drive here from Hopkins. If you like MVV

and this arrangement well enough, perhaps you can talk Will into picking up

products for you here and you could pick up from him at his house.

I would recommend some eggs. I can order a package of cheese for you, you

can tell anyone interested that it's a gift from me. Gouda or cheddar?

Have you ever tried any kombucha? A shareholder makes that, it's pretty

steep at $6 a bottle (it includes deposit) but it tastes just like kombucha I

make. Umm I don't know what else I could recommend. I got some 1000Hills beef

but it's still in the freezer! I like their bison (a shareholder sells it to

the Brunners). Just get what you like, whatever strikes your fancy. MVV butter

is cultured butter which is very different from MOMs butter (more expensive too

at $8/lb.) See enclosed price list. It doesn't list everything in the store

but is a good start!

I remember you! Well, I woudl check with the Brunners to make sure any eggs

pre-ordered by you are never refrigerated. I think 4 dozen every other week is

asking for a lot. Their chicken population almost got wiped out over the year

by predators. Now they have many layers, but of course it will take time for

mucho eggs to hit the pipeline. I would ask the Brunners specifially about it.

yeah, i just talked with janet. they only get 2-3 dozen a day and they go

quickly. if we're lucky, by september 1 she'll have a big supply. so, i guess i

have to forget about mvv eggs til then. janet said she'll let us know when

they're available. it'll be front page news in their newsletter.

There are always risks when you get out of the factory model and let your farm

be a part

of the real world- of course there are benefits too. Consumers also have to

learn to

adjust their thinking to fit in with not only the flow of the seasons, but also

when the

neighbor's dog eats a farmer's entire flock of chickens one night! (I'm not

saying a dog is

what happened at MVV, but just talking out of personal experience).
