Hi Leann & Jen;

Here is the recipe for the liquid powder. I got it off Snowdrift Farms web

site.

I changed a couple of the ingredients they listed as I didn't have them.I

used Emulsifying wax instead of the emmulsifyer that they had listed and I

used Sweet almond oil for the oil in mine instead of the wheat germ oil.

Recipe is:

SILKY LIQUID POWDER

1 tsp E Wax

1 tsp jojoba oil

2 tsp sweet almond oil

2 Tbs coconut oil

2 Tbs natrasorb

2 Tbs water 1 tsp polysorbate 20

pinch of methylparabin

coloring and fragrance if desired.

Mix oils together and heat to melt E Wax and coconut oil.

Warn the water add polysorbate 20 and methylparabin. Stir to dissolve, Add

natrasorb and mix well. Add the water mixture to the oil mixture and whisk

well untill an emulsion forms. This is the time to add the color and the

fragrance.

When it starts to thicken, bottle. This has the consistancy of a thick

lotion goes on like a lotion but when absorbed into skin leaves a slight

powdery feeling.

Hope this answers your question.

I would like to try the recipe for liquid powder, but is there anything I can

use instead of the polysorbate and methylparabin. I don't have either one.

Thanks for your help. Esther

Hi Esther;

You could probally leave out the methylparabin as it is a preservative. But

I would recomend this if you are going to use this for yourself or give it

to family.

You could also leave out the polysorbate 20 as it is an emulsifyer if you

are using the Ewax.

Snowdrift Farms is where I got my methylparabin as well as the natrasorb and

my polysorbate20

That is also where you can find the original recipe for the liquid powder.

Something like this? http://www.snowdriftfarm.com/footcare101pg2.html Maybe

you can play with this recipe. Or Ask the Chemist! He is my favourite person.

How would i make a powder into a liquid? I mean for the

sake of it being in a tube as a lotion and then drying to a silky

powder when applied to the skin?

Thanks a million in advance!

Hi Celeste;

I make the liquid powder and really like it. It is made simular to a body

lotion, except that it has in it Natrasorb which is a wheat or tapioca

starch which is like corn starch. Here is the recipe that I use.

Silky Liquid Powder

2 Tablespoons Coconut Oil

2 Teaspoons Almond Oil

1Teaspoon Jojoba Oil

1 Teaspoon Emulsifying Wax

2 Tablespoons Distilled Water

1 Teaspoon Polysorbate 20

Pinch of Preservative

Mix oils together to warm and to melt the Emulsifying Wax, Warm the Water,

add polysorbate 20 and the preservative, mix well, add natrasorb and mix

untill it is dissolved . Combine water mixture with the oil mixture and

whisk untill an emulsion forms ans thickens, Bottle.

This recipe makes about 8 ouunces.

Enjoy.

Namaste:
