Guest guest
I would email customer service about the manual, and check eBay for parts. > > Hi! New to the group and I just inherited a Vitamix 3600 Plus. It is in amazing shape except for one thing- it is missing the stopper and the tamper I really don't want to use one of those wooden ones from eBay as I don't see that being particularly food safe. Any other alternatives? Vitamix said that the new tampers don't work with the 3600 and would hardly buy a new blender for a tamper. Plus, it has sentimental value. > > Thanks! > > TJ > > P.s. anyone have a Digital copy of the manual? I have.no idea how to use this thing (well) to its potential. Guest guest
The 3600 is a wonderful machine! What a workhorse! I had mine for 20 plus years before recently upgrading to the 5200. You are likely to find that you won't often need the tamper with the 3600, since it does a great job of pulling everything down to the center on its own. I agree about not wanting to use aftermarket wooden ones from ebay, as they very likely will harbor germs and who knows what the wood may have been treated with. On the rare times that something needs tamping, just scrape down the sides with a spatula (machine off, of course) and start it again. The biggest thing to note about the 3600 is that when you throw it into " reverse " (a function I very much miss) it WILL spark under the machine-this is NORMAL and expected, but will likely scare you and make you think something is wrong, lol! The spark is the engine switching gears, no harm. There might be a label warning you of this on it-some have it, some don't. Enjoy your Vitamix-no matter what the model, they are simply wonderful! And welcome to the group! > > > > Hi! New to the group and I just inherited a Vitamix 3600 Plus. Guest guest
I have a 3600 VitaMix that my sister gave me minus the container. So I contacted VitaMix and they sent me a new container and conversion kit. So if you cannot get an original tamper, consider getting the new container w/conversion kit. I love mine!!!!!! Guest guest
I searched eBay for both manual and tamper; several buying options. > > > > Hi! Guest guest
I think my really old VM is a 3600, but can't recall (and it's put away right now), but was that the stainless steel container you replaced? If so, I should do that so I have the old one to use in motor home. Velda On 11/3/2011 4:35 AM, Hatzopoulos wrote: I have a 3600 VitaMix that my sister gave me minus the container. Guest guest
Yes, my nephew ruined the stainless steel container and my sister just put the 3600 machine away. Years later, I asked my sister how she liked the VitaMix and would she consider buying one again. I was thinking about buying one but wanted to be sure it was worth it. So when she said that I could have her machine and buy my own container I was delighted. I think the new container and the conversion kit cost me about $150.00 about 6-8 years ago. I am very happy with my new/old Vitamix!!!!!!

Guest guest
I was only able to find the wooden tampers...did you see another kind I missed? Thanks!TJ >I searched eBay for both manual and tamper; several buying options.
Guest guest
Wow, , thank you! Thanks for the all the info about the 3600! I am really excited about having it for sure. I also really appreciate the stainless steel carafe as I try to limit plastics around my food. Of course it is nice to know about being able to convert to the new carafe if I have to. I am currently bidding on one of the manuals from eBay - I can't believe they are so expensive! I was hoping there was a .PDF file somewhere anyway, I guess I am just having a bit of a time " converting " the recipes I keep seeing for the 5200. I don't have have a Variable setting or a high button and since I am just starting out there seems to be A LOT of trial and error as far as getting things blended up but not turned to hot soup! Guest guest
You are welcome, TJ. I am pretty fanatic about not having plastic around my food, which is one reason I hesitated for so long about upgrading my 3600 to the 5200, but after careful research, I found the the Vitamix containers are BPA free, perfectly safe, and best yet-I have NO reaction to them (I am super sensitive to most plastics and generally avoid them like the plague!) I also had a 4000 Vitamix, and must say as much as I like the 5200, I do miss the reverse function! If you ever DO decide to upgrade, be sure to go through our group owner, Lea Ann, as she can likely get you the best deal on a new one. In the meantime, enjoy that 3600! Happy to answer any questions or problems you have with it, but it really is enough of a work horse that you can pretty much dump any thing in it and turn out with something good, lol! Works BEAUTIFULLY for grinding grains, such as rice, quinoa, wheat, oats, etc. Sent from my iPadOn Nov 4, 2011, at 11:52 AM, "tjanasaysthis@..." <tjanasaysthis@...> wrote: Wow, , thank you!
