Thyroid Meds Update

Mattern,

Letting you know since we had spoken privately in the past, is taking

thyroid meds again. In June the Endo prescribed .25mcg Synthroid to begin with.

seems to be doing much better with Synthroid as opposed to the generic

he was taking before. The generic was also a .50mcg tablet that I broke in half,

as I was sure that does was too much for him as per his overheating, sweating,

anxiety, etc. Of course, I did it with our peds approval. Cincy was the ones who

prescribed that dose when we were there for other reasons. 's bloodwork

always looked good even though I was sure he was having hyer episodes. We may

end up taking that dose again but then again, may not. At any rate the Synthroid

is being tolerated much better.

Now Endo is concerned with pre-diabetes. has lost 6 pounds over summer

but needs to lose much more. We do our best. That's what we always do but we're

limited in what he can do as per his legs and as per a lack of opportunity where

we live.

Glucophage is a med that is sure to be on our list as per Endo and I so don't

want to add another diagnosis or medicine to our list. Anybody taking Glucophage

and side effects if any???? I hate starting a new medicine because even though

is verbal (won't hush ... actually) he isn't always able to tell me

what is bothering him. He's sick now...and for instance, told me his throat was

dry like a creek bank. Doc said his throat looked like strep and his ear was

infected. Treating for ear infection would take care of strep too.

So anyhoo, I'm here...lurking. lol Checking in.

Take care,

Barb
