Guest guest
Hi Jerry! I have not had a type 1 with gastroparesis, but I have each separately. (hope that makes sense) The surgery did improve gastroparesis in the one person (they were type 2 and they d/c'd reglan), and did pull bld glucoses into control in the type 1. We were able to turn her pump down within 1 week post op to 10 units (down from 30 + originally) The week before surgery she was at 15 units as she had lost weight and was doing all meal replacements with protein drinks and powders. We saw bg improvements preop due to the preop diet. It would be interesting to see how your pt responds to diet regulation or meal replacement! Take care, Mandy > I would be interested in this information as well. The facility I work at is going to start doing the lap band procedure soon. Thanks in advance- Cheryl Deitsch > > >>> slaaser@... 10/9/2006 4:46 PM >>> > > What are you all using as a nutrition reference for dietary > recommendations for lap-band patients prior to surgery as well as > after surgery? Guest guest
Did a Google search on natural remedys for this ailment if any of you want to look at these, if not, just delete. I happen to believe in natural remedy and have reversed my diabetes as well as healed from ulcerative Colitis as a result of natural methods but, I also know some don't agree with this approach so, just delete if you aren't interested. Got laughed at , at work and asked what do I do if I need an antibiotic, thinking they would stump me. I answered, take Shitake mushrooms, a natural antibiotic with no side effect, lol, they wanted to know where to find them. rofling http://www.pranofax.com/ http://www.trenical.com/product.html
Guest guest
, I have some suggestions as follows: 1. Shakes: for natural and organic she can try either Orgain or the Vega products with either soy or almond milk. If she cannot tolerate these or get them down, then you might want to go to Peptamen OS which is now in a juice box (Nestle Nutrition: contact your rep for a free case for her to try). Good Luck!
