I am , mom to Meghan age 13 (soon to be 14 she reminds us) with DS and just 16 who is very into computer video making and her horse!!! It has certainly been an interesting ride........what is weird to me is that there is such a clear division between people who get it and people that don't.......there are people in our lives who can't understand why anyone has problems with the fact that Meghan has DS.........they don't get it and frankly don't care to discuss it they just have their relationship with her and with us and that is that........................ I spent alot of years trying to get friends that don't get it to understand and then came a point that I just decided to let them go and to allow myself the joy of being with a community of people who just accepted and didn't want to be questioned about their acceptance...............it has been a tremendous relief to not be trying to convert those who would see hanging out with us/her as their charity contribution...YUCK!!!!
