Guest guest
Renita,Remember that fat DOES NOT make you fat, it’s more the carbohydrates you should worry about. Our bodies need this good fat in order to have healthy brains, to support our hormones, our skin, digestion and lots more. The 40 calorie almond milk is that because they don’t add in sugars which is what the 60 calorie one has. My suggestion is to use real, whole foods – use raw almonds, soak them, make the almond milk and enjoy it without worrying about the calorie count. If you continue to use whole foods, lots of alkaline vegetables, small amounts of fruit, small amounts of good proteins, coconut oil etc you will stay or get what I call Radiant Health. Guest guest
Bonnie, it sounds like you eat a lot like I do! My health has done nothing but improve since I started eating more coconut butter, coconut oil, and full-fat coconut milks. My weight has stabilized at the low end of where it used to do the "5lb. swing" ;-) My cravings have all but vanished. I've had two periods since I started eating more coconut products, and my PMS was eliminated to the point that both periods "snuck up on my and caught me by surprise" which has NEVER happened in my life prior to this!!! My other fats include raw cow's milk cream, homemade raw butter, avocado, and the occasional hand full of walnuts, brazil nuts (2-3 at a time), pumpkin seeds, sunflower seeds, and almonds. My only source of carbs comes from the veggies I eat. I eat about 1/2 lb. of dark green leafy veggies per day + loads of other veggies, but mostly: green beans, green peas, carrots, squashes, pumpkin, sweet potato, celery.I do keep a tight reign on the nuts (limit the amount I eat) because I found that I can tend to gain weight more if I eat too much. In my reading of, "Eat Fat, Lose Fat" by Sally Fallon and Dr. Enig, I learned that it takes more calories to digest coconut oil products than they provide, so the coconut oil products promote weight loss, but not so with the other sources of fat. Guest guest
I try to limit my carbs and keep to using good whole foods. I use organic butter, wilderness family naturals coconut oil, full fat coconut milk, raw soaked almonds, avocado etc. I work with my clients about using grass fed meats, wild fish, organic eggs, lots of whole vegetables and fruits and lots of wild and raw greens. It’s amazing how we can change people’s health by using “real food” and staying away from processed foods. Guest guest
Ok so I know you guys are trying to lose weight but I have been desperately trying to gain healthy weight. My body was shocked at first, but let me tell you guys I was at 117 before my VM...Today I weighed in at 120. I've only eaten thing's from the VM. So far Tortilla Soup is my favorite and to my surprise my entire families. Last night both my children asked for it again. So of course we made it. My daughter has never knowingly eaten a veggie. Last night as I sat in my chair my hubby sat up for me, my daughter cut up the cabbage, squash, zucchini; well everything. She knew what she was eating and loved it. They finished it off for lunch today. OHG. Oh and I was able to walk on my own to the kitchen and stand up for a bit. Guest guest
PRAISE GOD! Woo Hoo! I was worried about you after you mentioned eating the Tortilla Soup then we didn't hear from you for a while. I was afraid the soup didn't set well with you. I am SO RELIEVED and SO HAPPY to hear that you have gained 3lbs. Yea Hoooooo! The Tortilla Soup is a pretty healthy concoction overall.I had a customer at a show once who wanted to taste the tortilla soup but had diverticulits, and I had already put the beans and corn and chips in. The crowd wasn't big, so after serving everyone I blended what was left in the container back to a liquid, he loved it and I tried it and it was really good to me too!Do you think your body is ready for protein? You can add chicken to the Tortilla Soup and blend it all to a liquid. I've taken left over chicken soup and blended it into a hot puree and loved it!Oh, and it is SO COOL that your daughter is participating in the preparation and learning about healthy veggies AND how they can taste so good! You are an inspiration . I'm praying for increased health and wellness.
