My daughter and I are vegetarian and gluten/wheat/corn/soy free/egg free-we make

veggie burgers all the time in the Vitamix. We grow our own beans, so we

usually use fresh, but you could adapt using canned I am sure. Just rinse and

drain your choice of cooked beans (we like a blend of black, chick pea and great

northern) Place about 2 cups in the VM (reserve an extra half cup or so out if

you want it chunkier) with egg substitute or one egg (we use flax, chia, or

tapioca gel as egg sub) and whatever seasoning you want (herbs, sea salt,

scallions, etc) and a tablespoon or two of your safe flour or cooked brown rice

(we use a flour blend of GF organic oats/buckwheat/red quinoa/brown rice flour,

all of which we grind in the VM) Buzz it on low speed until just blended, then

add in the reserved beans for texture, if desired. With fresh beans, no liquid

is needed, so you may need to tweak and add a little of the bean liquid or

broth, but we don't add any. I get it out of the container by rapping the

container upside down onto a flexible cutting board, then forming my patties and

sauteeing them in homemade butter. These are great with chopped up portabello

mushrooms added too, or any other veggies-we sometimes throw in eggplant,

carrot, celery, green peppers, etc-chop the veggies before adding the beans to

form the cakes.

I made the pumpkin shake yesterday and we LOVED it, thank you so much! But I

just got to wondering if I couldn't use the vitamix to make a veggie burger!

Does anyone have a recipe? It would have to be without gluten, but I could

probably adapt if necessary. THANKS!!
