Guest guest
You shouldn't use the skin of papaya-it contains naturally occurring latex, and unless organic, will also be full of pesticide and herbicide residues, which do not wash off despite whatever wash you are using. For other veggies, you can make a wonderful homemade wash by just throwing a whole organic lemon in the Vitamix with a little water, few drops of food grade peroxide, a pinch of sea salt, and a spoonful of baking soda-buzz it up and pour it into a spray bottle, then spray your veggies/fruits with it before rinsing them well. The oil in the lemon peel helps break down dirt and residue. (Just be sure the lemon is organic) and I recommend only ever using organic veggies and fruits as well, otherwise you concentrate the pesticides when you buzz them in the VM. Do you have to peel the papaya to vitamix it? Also, besides using a store bought veggie cleaner, what else can be used, It seems I have heard that Basic H can be used.
